untraditional Fall and Halloween Flower arrangement
Over the weekend I had the honor of taking over the Better Homes and Gardens Instagram feed (click HERE). It was scary and exciting all at the same time. Did you follow along by any chance?
Anyways, lets get to today’s post. Did you notice the flower arrangement in my post on Friday (click HERE if you missed it)?
I really had fun putting it together and I always get email questions about the flowers I used which happened too when I posted about my living room arrangement in my second fall tour (click HERE if you missed it). So I thought I’d write an entire post about one for those of you who asked.

flowers I used:
Thistle Eryngium Blue Bell (Eryngium plan)
Hypericum Coco Yoko (Hypericum perforated)
Protea Pincushion High Gold (Leucospermum cordifolium)
Mums from our garden in rust red
choke cherry leaves in maroon
weeping cherry leaves in yellow
I actually really enjoyed finding out their exact names. What I love about the thistles is that they function as a structure for the arrangement so I start with them first and then just insert the other flowers within the thistle structure.
I love this color combination so much.
We found these two feathers in our yard. The one is from a Blue Jay and the other one is from a Wood Pecker. I love them.
And then I had fun taking photos of the arrangement. Some with a skeleton spider for Halloween and some without.
Or how about an arrangement inspired by fuji apples and plums (HERE):
Or black cala lillies and orange hot peppers (HERE)
Or a fall arrangement with grapes, cauliflower, thistles and artichokes (HERE)
Playing with flowers relaxes me. It’s like painting artwork They were all so affordable and the entire arrangement was under $8, can you believe it?
You can pin the imaged below my signature. I always really appreciate the Pinterest shares 🙂 Thanks my friends.
That’s it for today.
