My favorite stylish slingback patio chairs
We’ve had Adirondack chairs in our backyard for years and they recently broke, so I was on the hunt for replacements. Since we have such a small backyard, I wanted to find something a bit smaller-scaled to fit the space better. I also wanted outdoor chairs that are foldable for easier storage over the winter and slingback patio chairs fit that bill perfectly.
I’ve always been drawn to sling chairs ever since seeing them in my brother’s small yard in Germany. They add such a vacation beach vibe and are also super comfortable.
8 of my favorite slingback patio chairs
Some of the following chairs have fabric, synthetic, or rope material used for the slings and some are solid wood.
- Teak Slingback Chair
- Outdoor Low Profile Acacia Wood Folding Chair
- All Weather Wicker Lanai Slingback Lounger Chair (not available anymore)
- Natural Slingback Patio Chair
- Outdoor Low Profile Wood Lounge Chair With Roping
- Folding Eucalyptus Swing Outdoor Lounge Chair with Head Pillow
- Classic Beach Folding Chair
- Business & Pleasure Co. Folding Sling Chair
Which one is your favorite slingback patio chair? Or do you think they are just too small-scaled?
How long do slingback chairs last?
They should last you for years if you take some simple steps to protect them. I will be applying a teak protector. This will definitely help to protect the chairs from the outdoor elements. Check out my blog post about restoring teak outdoor furniture.
Plus we will, of course, store them inside over the winter.
Are slingback chairs comfortable?
Well yes, they are super comfy actually. I have short legs and the fact that they are lower to the ground makes them extra comfortable for me.
I bought chair number 2 at Costco. The fact that it was half price sealed the deal for me but I did have them at the top of my list even before finding them there while shopping with a friend. The design is so unique and cool.
I bought this sling ottoman for my chair so we can put our feet up and it is the perfect comfy combo. The ottoman has synthetic/plastic weave that is perfect for outdoor use.
The slingback chairs I chose in our back yard
Below you can see my son and me sitting on the chairs with the ottoman on Mother’s Day. Surprisingly comfy I tell ya. I did take the tag off after taking the photo 😉

If you are wondering what I’ve been up to as far as projects are going? I started to paint my front porch and can’t wait to get done so I can show you the finished new version. Remember my black and white striped porch? I painted the concrete in 2016 and it’s held up great with no chips in sight. However, the white stripes were stained over time, and not even the pressure washer could completely clean them anymore. So it was time for a fresh coat of paint.
UPDATE: I did re-paint the concrete front porch and you should check. out the after.
