BHG StyleMaker 2018
I’m always feeling a bit uncomfortable posting about my blogging trips because I don’t want to sound like I’m bragging. BUT the BHG StyleMaker Event is definitely one of my favorites and such an honor to be invited to and attend. Can you believe this was my 4th year attending? (2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022)
It is pretty easy for me to get to since I live so close to New York City and this year I went to my friend Kelly‘s house again who lives about 50 minutes away from me. She is also within short walking distance of the train to NYC which we took again to the city.
If you are new around here and don’t really know what the BHG StyleMaker Event is, then let me fill you in really quickly. It is an event hosted by Better Homes and Gardens Magazine and a website for online influencers and stylemakers in the home decor, food, and fashion field get to attend.

Most of the photos are courtesy of David Keith Photography and some are just my crappy cellphone pictures.
This year the event was held at the Public Hotel which is a modern stunner and super close to really great shopping on Broadway and Soho which is exactly what we did right after checking in.
Just check out the escalators that you have to take up to the lobby.
It’s not all cold and modern though and has cozy lounging areas.
And I love the floating beds and view.
This year I only stayed one night because it was also my little ones 12th birthday. Look at us twinning. Doesn’t she look a tad bit uncomfortable? Well that is because she doesn’t want to match me in public LOL. (find our matching pants HERE and HERE, shoes HERE and HERE)
Look at the view from the roof top bar at the event. This is truly what New York is about.
My dress is from Zara, the shoes are years old and so comfy which is why I still wear them all the time and you can find my earrings HERE. It was as if I knew they were having maroon as this year’s color choice.
I love attending the sessions they put together so we can all be inspired and learn along the way. And it is always great hearing other people’s success stories.
We got to meet Maneet Chauhan of the show Chopped. My daughter was super jealous because she is obsessed with that show.
Of course my favorite session was mixing cocktails with Marie Viljoen who’s the author of Forage, Harvest, Feast and curtesy of Tito’s vodka.
And styling the drinks for photos.
We also got to meet celebrity chef Carla Hall who is so much fun and I swear everyone wants to be her best friend. Below she is posing with some of the editors of BHG. From left to right Nancy Hopkins, Carla Hall, editor in chief Stephen Orr and Oma Blaise Ford.
Carla has such a fun personality.
And I love that MAYBELLINE was a sponsor and I enjoyed trying out some of their new lip colors and eye brow pencils.
Lots of posing and picture opportunities with friends. I’m used to be behind the camera though and not in front of it.
Beth (Home Stories A to Z), me, Kelly Elko, Chelsea (Two Twenty One) and Jen (City Farmhouse)
Above and below are my peeps. Love these bloggers so much and I’m glad I met them through our little businesses.
Below are Jen Woodhouse (The House of Wood), Ursula Carmona (Home made by Carmona), me, Corey (Hey There, Home) and Aniko (Place of my Taste)
Below Bree (ZDesign at Home) Amy (Crazy Chic Designs) and Amie (Meme Hill)
And below are Kelly and me sneaking out of the event earlier with a cookie so we could catch our train home in time.
What a whirlwind of an event and so much fun. And I think this covers enough photos of me again for the entire year 😉
I’m so thankful to have been invited again and to be able to be part of it.
