Better Homes and Gardens 2017 Stylemaker and Christmas Ideas
I was lucky to be invited to this year’s Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker event again this year and just wanted to talk about it a little here. I promise I’ll keep the posing shots to a bare minimum. I know they annoy the heck out of most of you guys.
I do have to start it right away with one posing shot though because I got see my friend Kelly Elko’s dog Sushi again who happens to be the daughter of my neighbor’s dog and I hadn’t seen her since she was a tiny baby. You can even follow Sushi on Instagram HERE. Isn’t she just adorable?

My friend Kelly lives right outside the city and I drove to her house which is only about an hour away from mine. I loved seeing her beautiful home.
Go check out her amazing house and living room makeover HERE.
We took the train to the city together and went straight to our amazing hotel. (This is not a sponsored post by the way. We do pay for this ourselves)
I was completely stunned by this year’s event location at 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. I feel like shouting from the rooftop to anyone who plans to visit NYC to stay at this hotel. The views of Manhattan are just the absolute best I have ever seen. The inside doesn’t disappoint either.
The lobby is a mixture of natural elements and textures mixed with concrete accents. Just so stunning.
I really want these below stools.
And check out our cool room keys.
Kelly and I shared a king sized bedroom and had to get over our fear of sharing a translucent shower within our room.
This is what the bedrooms look like inside. So warm and cozy.
The definite star of the show is the roof top bar and restaurant. I mean I would have spent days up there especially since we had amazing weather too.
Look at the roof top pool!!! To the left of the skyline you can actually see the Statue of Liberty.
And the night time view!
The next day it was time for the event. You can see Kelly and I on the left with Jessica of Four Generations One Roof, Amie of Meme Hill and Gloribell of I don’t know how she does it.
We attended classes, ate some amazing food. I got to test out my new iPhone camera and am thrilled with the photos it can take. I mean look at the below desert shot.
When I go to these events I decided to wear Zara.com from now on because they don’t do affiliates with bloggers and there is a bigger chance that I’ll be the only one wearing it. They do have amazing affordable clothing though too and I love their stuff. I’m wearing this dress HERE and these earrings HERE. This is where it’s definitely a plus that I’m not a fashion blogger 😉
Here we are in our food styling class.
There weren’t too many photos of me and my girls at the event which might have something to do with our questionable posing skills… LOL
The above and below closeup crop made me crack up so badly, I almost peed my pants. We are total pros!
In the evening we all went out to eat again. My favorite part is definitely the friendships you get to have personally with some amazingly talented women who I would have never met if it wasn’t for my little blog.
Also check out the other BHG Stylemaker Events that I attended 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
Christmas Ideas Feature
And lastly, if you are at a store where magazines are sold, go see if you can find the 2017 Better Homes and Gardens Christmas Ideas issue. I’m thrilled to be in it this year with my family.
Here is a little sneak peek but there is more!
It never gets old seeing your home in a magazine.
Tschüß,
Love the pictures of all of you at the event and wow, congratulations on the magazine feature. I need to find a copy of it.
so exciting that you are in that magazine! so happy for you!!!
That was so much fun and so glad we got to room together – non private shower and all! Sushi was thrilled to finally meet you too – she’s a little pissed that she wasn’t invited to the rooftop bar though!
You looked gorgeous! That hotel is fab, must look at its website….
Congrats on being featured in the magazine. Can’t wait to pick it up.
Oh my gosh! That crop!! So hilarious.
