BHG Stylemaker 100
At the end of September, I was honored to be invited to the annual Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker event again as a style maker. After a pause during COVID in 2020 and a virtual event in 2021, BHG hosted an epic event for their 100th anniversary. I’ve been lucky to have attended them since 2015 (also 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019)
My blog friends and I were thrilled to see each other again and spend a couple of days in New York City together.

The event location was in their office building and we could see Brooklyn. The sunset was amazing at the end of the day for their cocktail hour which I will show you later.
We stayed at the Placemakr Hotel which is in the financial district on Wall Street and I really liked the location. It is within walking distance to the Brooklyn Bridge as you can see below. That was the view from our bed.
We always love exploring the city together.
And since the Brooklyn Bridge was within walking distance we headed to Brooklyn for some shopping and lunch at Time Out Market. I actually took my daughter back to the city a couple of weeks later to do the same with her and a friend because I loved it so much. Time Out Market has something for everyone and the views of the city and Brooklyn Bridge are amazing.
I mean look! Like I said the view is amazing.
We had dinner at La Esquina on the first night. I was nervous about having the job of picking a random place from minimal online research. When we arrived and saw the outside non of us really wanted to go inside LOL. We then realized that if you don’t have reservations you have to sit in the very casual not so nice street level. Luckily I had made reservations and then you get taken into the basement through the kitchen into a very dimly lit beautiful tequila lounge restaurant. I loved the atmosphere so much and that’s exactly what I had seen online.
Now let’s get back to talking about the actual event that we came for!
It is always a lot of fun to get dressed up and be with like-minded and inspiring people. One of my favorite parts is always brainstorming and learning from my fellow bloggers.
The event always goes way to fast and here are some of the highlights.
If you’ve known me for a while then you know that I adore Jonathan Adler and it was definitely a highlight for me to hear him and Simon Doonan speak. They are so inspiring, talented, and funny. I could have listened to them all day.
We also got to listen to Dave Marrs and Jenny Marrs of HGTV talk about their new “The Marrs Collection” by Better Homes & Gardens that is available at Walmart.
Here are some of my favorites:
Here are the trend takeaways of the event.
After the event, we headed to the Stone Street Tavern which is also in the financial district and I highly recommend this cute cobble street with all kinds of bars and restaurants. The beer benches and vibes reminded me of Germany.
My friend Kyla Herbs who’s a rockstar on TikTok summed our trip up perfectly with this short TikTok video (turn sound on):

What I didn’t mention earlier is that Aniko (Place of My Taste) and her family came to our area with their home on wheels. She has been living in a camper since COVID hit and traveling the US with her family. It was super cool to see her amazing home on wheels. While we were in NYC our husbands got to hang out together for a bit too and when we returned we had a cookout at their campsite.
Tschüß,
