My favorite summer tunic dresses
I spend a lot of time on Instagram, and while browsing my feed, I have been increasingly seeing ads about summer tunic dresses. Many times I have clicked over to the shopping sites only to notice that I was on one of the thousands of cheap Chinese knock-off sites. I don’t know if you remembered when I got sucked into buying from one of them last summer and warned my email subscribers about them and not to buy from them.
Lately, there was an image of one of those dresses that I couldn’t let go of because I loved it so much, and I just wanted to find who the original designer source was. All those fashion images have been stolen from those sites and do not represent what you are actually going to receive in the mail. It irritates me so much! Especially the fact that they all get away with it while Instagram remains so strict with everything we regular folks post about, but since those sites pay for their posts, many eyes are looking the other way and let them. I started to report those ads because they annoy me so much.
So let’s get back to the dress that I love so much and where I was on a mission to find the original designer.

I feel like the original idea for the dresses I am after is from the Greek design label “Devotion” which I’m showing off below. I’m obsessed with all their clothes.

I tried to find sites that sell their beautiful summer tunic dresses here in the US and have so far only found two that have limited stock. One of them is a small boutique in Santa Barbara, and the other one is Anthropologie (you can still see the dresses and patterns, but they are sold out). Or this Devotion Twins Cream Paradise Embroidered Stripe Short Dress is cute too.

Below I’m wearing some of these dresses…

Similar tunic dresses from different brands
I have spent extensive time online trying to find alternatives to the original, expensive Greek summer tunic dresses.
Greek Archaic Kori is another stunning Greek brand with beautiful fabrics and patterns.
I’ve actually found these types of KORI dresses at the Olive Tree (gift shop and boutique) in Stone Harbor, NJ. If you are ever at the Jersey Shore, check them out.
I found the dress below at a boutique in Munich called Lemoni, and they have some amazing pieces every year.
Here are some more Kori tunic dresses:
And I also found an affordable yarn-dyed version on Amazon, which you can see below.

And now we have the Ukrainian Vyshyvanka embroidered linen tunic dresses, and I found a shop on Etsy that handmakes the most amazing tunic dresses. Yes, they are also a little more pricey, but totally unique and worth it since they are handmade. I think they are all comfy showstoppers.
And some more of my favorites I found this year:
Shoes to wear with tunic dresses
I wear the following shoes with the above tunic dresses. They are all super comfy!
I love covering up my arms and showing off my legs, so these dresses are the perfect outfits for me.
Tschüß,

These are great looking dresses and look just like you! I wish I could wear them. A bit short for me at 68 although I do have nice gams?
? the custom ones you can have made longer though and I’m sure they’d look great
Thanks for sharing these gorgeous dresses! I love the one with tassels, but can’t afford it, unfortunately. I hope you find one you love.
I know! Some of them are really pricey!
these are all so adorable!!!! i need to work on my legs first. 😉
I am so glad to see someone is posting dresses with sleeves. I absolutely hate how my arms look as I get older. I know a lot of women have beautiful arms but I am not one of them. I have never tanned very well because my skin tends to freckle. You look really cute in the dresses and I love all of them. You have great legs so show them off as long as you can. Don’t even get me started on what I hate about my legs. Ha! I guess we all have to accept ourselves for the season we are in but sometimes when I look in the mirror I don’t recognize the person looking back at me. I turn 72 on Friday.
Thanks Betty, my legs are something I like about myself 😉 I wouldn’t wear really short shorts though because they aren’t the youngest legs anymore haha. With fashion and also home decor it’s about finding what works best for you and hiding my arms definitely works best for me. I honestly don’t really like the sleeveless look on most people and that includes men too LOL. It’s not really a look I care for. My mom who is 81 says the same thing you said, that she doesn’t recognize the person she looks at in the mirror. My mom now tries to hide her arms and legs and she wears a lot of the long tunic and tiered dresses that I shared in today’s post.
*sewing*
Love these! I just got a super cute one at Old Navy at a great price! Lately I’ve been sewing myself some tunic and dresses when I can find great fabric (not the easiest thing). Love your style!!
Oh that is awesome that you can sew your own. Love that!
Bless you for doing the detective work. Those knock off sites drive me up the wall daily on IG! LOVE what the models in the stolen pics are wearing and SO wish we had an easy way to find the real designer or retailer. Do you have any tips to share on the how? Love your site btw!
Those sites drive me crazy Jackie. It’s not easy finding the actual designer or influencer who was wearing the original. Thank you!
