Friday Favorites: Ombre Storage Baskets
Hey friends, today I’m trying to share some random things here and there because that’s how life has been. So lets just jump right in. My powder room light finally came but I’m still waiting on the mirror which won’t be here until the middle of April. I’m trying to fix random things throughout the house which is why I shared my pouf trick (click HERE if you missed it). That was one of the little fixes. Others aren’t blog share worthy because they are little trim fixes, paint boo boos and boring projects of such nature.
And… hey I play with a baby cat a lot. It is time consuming but fun and sweet.  She has to be kept separate because the old ladies and her don’t like each other so far and she still looks like she has a virus. We will get her retested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS. She was too young the first time she was tested at the rescue. And that part I’m really stresses me out. It’s not been a happy cat household.
And then I wanted to elaborate on my #livingprettywithyourpets series as well and why I haven’t had it on the blog. Some of you have asked. So here is the thing. Less and less bloggers are willing to write a post for another blog and I don’t blame them. Blogging is changing, it’s becoming more and more expensive to pay for all the services and fees involved and it’s also becoming more and more competitive, so why would anyone else want to write for another blog. I sure wouldn’t. And I just don’t have the budget to pay for them to write one either. There are still so many blogs out there with fabulous furry families and I’m wondering if there is a different way of sharing them with you.
So this is a little attempt for me to share one with you. Did you see my share on Instagram last Friday?
I mean, how cute is that furry crew on the bed? So so cute, right? She’s my hero for making them all pose like that. And Sharlene’s feed is amazing design wise and for almost always having one of her furry children in a photo. So if you are on Instagram, it’s a must #livingprettywithyourpets follow by clicking HERE.
In our most used bathroom aka the powder room, we always run out of toilet paper and I have kids left screaming in it because they need me, so I ended up buying a basket from Target that I adore (click HERE) and hung the smallest of my DIY tassels that I made from our old sofa on it (click HERE for the tutorial). It’s filled with toilet paper now!
If you missed the reveal of the newly stenciled wall then you can click HERE to see the process.
And speaking of baskets, I got some questions about the ombre basket under my daughter’s desk on Monday. Mine was from HomeGoods and that always unfortunately means it’s not widely available. But I don’t know if you saw the handmade ombre baskets I found on Etsy, so I’m sharing some more today.
Here is a photo in case you missed it and click HERE if you missed the post:
And you could of course always DIY a basket like this!

Did you find that cute little black and white towel at Hobby Lobby? I got the exact same one there back in Jan and I just went there yesterday hoping to buy a few more and there wasn’t any!! So sad. But, I want more!!
i love sharlene and i think blogging and instagram are changing and everything is just HARD and i want to throw the proverbial towel in one of those lovely baskets! also, think i am going to use your huge black tassel idea and keep my railing wood… then on the other side a DIY rope one maybe???? i am hijacking your post. rambling. sorry!
lol I like rambling! And you should do the tassel
I have looked everywhere for a towel like that. Where did you get it???
I got it at Target but it is sold out. Sorry
Nice post. Loved the collection of basket.
Thanks
I feel like a goof, but I never considered putting TP in a basket! What a cute look!
Well thanks! And it comes in handy when the kids need it 😉
I’ve gotten behind and missed some bathroom posts….I need to go back and catch up, because it looks so good!
Your kitten doesn’t go after the toilet paper in the basket? We had to stop putting ours on the rolls as the little one constantly wants to roll it off and then eat it!
