Our un-staged garden
Today is our first day back to school and the kids were so so bummed. I have my mixed feelings, that’s for sure.
So because I haven’t had much time yet to do anything else besides unpack, clean and purge out rooms and drawers, I thought I’d share our end of summer garden with you today.
If you’ve seen my summer tour (click HERE) then you have seen it in the early stages of blooming and with a table setting.
This time I decided to show how everything looks now and also unstaged. It’s the way everything looks when I walk outside with my cup of coffee in the morning, which is exactly what I did this weekend. You might have seen that already on snapchat (@cuckoo4design) while I was eating my breakfast.
I had my coffee and took some photos while our calico cat Lilly accompanied me. She’s our little cat-dog who occasionally now comes out of her catio (click HERE) to walk the yard with us.
Remember the below photo from the beginning of the summer?
That is obviously not what it looks like every day. It might look like that when we have guests or the family is sitting down to eat. Below is what it looks like every day and my neighbor’s can attest to that.

Look at the weeds in the cracks above. I better do some picking!
She’s so so sweet!
Our pride are the gigantic elephant ears every year. They are a lot of work to dig up and bring inside every fall but so worth it I think. Look at the leaf against my hand!
My favorite ornamental grass:
The below “bird of paradise” which I had bought for my summer home tour (click HERE if you missed it) did really well outside while we were gone. I had it hooked up to a soaker hose on a timer. I hope it will live happily inside in the winter too. There isn’t as much light inside for sure though.
Everything else is severely overgrown and ready for fall.
This sweet young man was not ready for school to start again even though he said he was when he was in Germany.
If you missed last weeks post for what I brought home from Germany, then you can click HERE to see it.
And I could only snatch a shot of these two old grumpy sweet ladies with my flash. They weren’t into the photo session at all.
Have a great week.
Tschüß

your garden is beautiful… much prettier than mine when mine is staged! 😉 so lush and lovely!
I voted! I wish all votes were this easy 🙂
Thanks so much and I agree.
Your garden looks soo beautiful. I like the naturalistic look best.
xx
Thanks so much, it’s the perfect spot for my morning coffee and evening glass of wine
The perfect place to unwind after a hard day’s work and have a serene morning the next day! I really love your garden.
I love how green everything is! And the kitties of course 🙂
I missed my kitties
I love it a bit wild! Opposite is a Japanese garden where everything is in place. So cute that unstaged cat!
She is a pretty cute unstaged cat. I don’t think I could ever stage them, they’d tell me something else
Stunning, just stunning. You wouldn’t want to see our unstaged backyard. Yikes!
I love people who love cats
