What I’ve been up to lately
I’ve been pretty quiet again lately which is partly due to the fact that we were at the beach for two weeks. While I usually also post from the beach, I felt like I didn’t really have any time to craft anything. I also just felt like my time was limited. That does sound ridiculous, doesn’t it? Lady, you were at the beach!!! But… I still had to do technical blog work, also did all of the cooking for everyone, laundry, and such which would have left the time to craft when everyone was at the beach. I wanted to be at the beach too though 😉
I managed to go for two-hour walks on the beach every day which was so nice and I’m so glad that my bad knee let me. It’s definitely gotten better even though I fell up the stairs at the beach and hit it again. Thankfully nothing else broke and I just had a bruise.
And of course, I went on some house gawking excursions again too. The prices keep rising and rising, it’s insane. The last house below which I’ve shared before because it reminds me of homes in Germany is currently for sale for $7,900,000. You can see more photos HERE on Zillow.
Also this home is for sale for 11,500,000 in the bay. You have to see the photo of the pool overlooking the bay.
The below beach shack is on sale for $1,795,000… yes you heard that right. Click HERE to see more photos of it on Zillow. Crazy right?
This stunning home in Stone Harbor has an amazing video tour on YouTube HERE. It last sold for $10,000,000.
I just love all the different architecture on such a small island. It does feel like a different rich planet though and the gap is getting bigger and bigger every year. I mean, who can afford these places? Only a small percentage of humans can.
I definitely went down the Zillow rabbit hole one day. Do you ever do that?
Also, the kid below pulled up next to us in that exact lime green Lamborghini at the gas station in Avalon. He had his Instagram handle (click HERE) on his car and my son recognized the name. Apparently making YouTube videos for little children (8.5 million little subscribers) makes you big money. Can you believe it? Makes me think of the Wiggles!
I tried to count how many cars I can spot in his profile. Also how about the sea doo in the street?
When we came back from the beach Walter was ill and I had to rush him to the vet. He was throwing up and not eating. I think he is feeling better again. He’s still not eating much but he is bothering Willy again which is a good sign. Well unfortunately not for Willy.
I also started seriously planning our son’s dorm room for move-in day which is already in three weeks. I’m so NOT ready. Gosh, I will miss him.
I’m planning on having a blog post dedicated just for his dorm room and what we used after he is all moved in.
As far as other blog posts, I have been brain storming what else to make for our kitties. The hanging macrame cat bed has been such a hit with everyone, including my cats that I thought it’s time to make something else for them. I thought possibly a chair hammock and a nice new scratching solution.
Tschüß,
Wow those are some crazy expensive houses! I, too, can’t help but get sucked into Zillow and dreaming of moving and just seeing different pricing depending on the region.
Yes, Zillow has the power to suck you in for hours.
*paints handle on car
haha! I don’t think it will have the same effect for me. 😉
😂 probably not
Hi Julia – I enjoy looking at all the beautiful homes in Stone Harbor and Avalon, too and all the flowers. It is hard not too as everywhere you look there is a gorgeous home. Congrats to your son – I can’t believe he is college bound already. He was just a little kid when we first started blogging. It is an exciting time – best wishes to him. I am sure you will miss him, but you do get used to it after awhile and with Facetime, you can see that he is doing well whenever you want. 🙂
Thanks Diane, Facetime is such a wonderful thing. It makes a huge difference for me and my parents as well. I feel like I blinked and he is all grown. Now we have Lilly starting her 4 years of High School which scares me LOL.
Love seeing the beautiful images from the beach! SH & Avalon have a ton of beautiful homes. So glad Walters doing better!
Thanks, Meryl, I just love looking at all the homes and daydreaming. I’m so glad Walter is better too.
Looks like you and your family had a special time together. Congratulations to your son on starting college soon and to your daughter on her upcoming high school years. I’m so glad your kitty is feeling better.
Thanks so much Alison
