Ugh I can’t believe it’s January 5th already!!! I was stalling with my first post for this year because I was so enjoying my time off. Didn’t get much done but I spent lots of time with my kiddos.

I hope you guys can let me get slowly back into the swing of things. I need some more slacking!

Today I just wanted to pop in really quick to show you some of my presents because I love them so much.
Who here remembers how much I wanted gold flatware? Anyone? Well I didn’t get gold flatware but I got copper flatware and it’s just as good. I’ve been drawn to copper so much lately and the hubby just liked the copper better so that’s what he bought me. The flatware is from CB2 and you can buy it HERE.

And I also finally got some of the Jonathan Adler canisters that I wanted so badly. Fibs and glitter it is for me and I’m so happy about it. You can buy your own HERE and HERE.

As if that’s not enough I also got a gorgeous rose gold-toned Michael Kors ring but I don’t know where you can get your own ๐Ÿ˜‰

Christmas Presents: Jonathan Adler canisters, CB2 copper flatware, Michael Kors ring

Now how many people do you know that want nothing more than a new toilet paper holder for Christmas? LOL That’s exactly what I wanted and I was so super excited when I received the exact same one that I wanted.

Drum roll please……

Lucite and Brass toilet paper holder

It is glorious lucite and brass goodness, handmade and purchased from this amazing Etsy shop called LuxHoldups.
Are you feeling me? It’s amazing am I right? You should see all the other amazing lucite accessories for sale. I have a feeling this won’t be the last item purchased. This fixture is lonely I can just feel how sad it is all by itself!

And I treated myself to the new iPhone 6 and love it. The Plus is too big for my tiny hands. I also bought a cellphone cover from society6. To give you an honest review, I’m happy with the quality of the cover but the description read white and gold and it IS NOT GOLD. It’s yellow, there isn’t anything shiny about it and I was disappointed. You know I love my gold. The design is very pretty though and by Cat Coquillette. Click HERE to see it on their site. You can clearly see that it looks gold on their page and yellow in my photos.
I received an email from them where they state: “Unfortunately, our printers are unable to print metallic colors.” and I received a refund which is awesome. But just in case you are looking into buying a gold iPhone case, now you know that they are unable to make it gold. They should rephrase the listing ๐Ÿ˜‰

But just to show you  Cat Coquillette‘s designs, check out this gorgeousness. Aren’t they pretty? I think I’ll get a different one of hers.

So how was your Christmas? Did you get spoiled by Santa? Did you not exchange anything?

I feel like I need to start this year very slowly because I have lots of organizing and cleaning up to do before I start on any larger projects.

Tschüß,

I have been loving the Jonathan Adler jars and have been wanting to get some myself, but I wouldn’t mind getting them as a present either. ๐Ÿ™‚ I also like them in that blue stripe. The copper flatware is looking great, I can’t wait to see your table set with those. Thank you for sharing, have a lovely week!

Oh wow! I am so in love with all your gifts. I am a gold person/freak too. I tried and tried to do the Oil Rubbed Bronze thingy, but never could get into it. Although, I have been contemplating spray painting my main bathroom fixtures with it….. since I can’t afford new….. and I have not had great luck with spaying anything that needs to be really durable in the metallic gold or silvers. And oh my who could leave out a new phone. I need (but might be a long time till I get) the large ones, so I can see the stuff. lol Sad but true.

      January 5, 2015 at 2:21 pm

Yeah that might not work on bathroom fixtures. Happy New Year Sheryll!

Oh Susanne, I know! She makes a different straight toilet paper holder now because the one I have had issues with the angle falling apart and not holding up well. It happened to mine too. You are better off just getting the straight one ๐Ÿ˜‰

Your hubby is a good listener I think ๐Ÿ™‚ The copper flatware is soooo pretty!! I have a few of those copper “mule” mugs and love the warmth of the copper color. Glad you had a nice break with your family and I’m looking forward to your 2015 projects Julia!!

Oh my goodness, Julia. Weren’t you a good girl! Those gifts are fabulous! I never knew a lucite toilet paper roll holder existed. Bummer with the phone case though. I treated myself to the Samsung note 4 a few months back. I bought a clear case and there’s always dust and gunk getting under it and the rubberized outer ring is turning yellow. Those other designs you shared look beautiful. I’m popping over to see if they stock for my phone. Welcome back to blogging!

Wow- quite the haul!! Beautiful- love the copper flat wear! We don’t really do adult gifts at Christmas but I am using my Christmas money to order a beautiful Delonghi coffee maker that I’m ecstatic about!!

    • Julia says

      January 6, 2015 at 6:12 am

We usually don’t do that much for adults either, but we had a tough year and an anniversary that sucked, so I’m totally not soaking up the adult gifts. Besides he gets to use the flatware and TP holder himself ๐Ÿ˜‰ It’s a win win!

We haven’t exchanged gifts in decades. To us, that’s just not what the season is about. Our children do not expect anything extra just because the calendar says it’s Dec 25th. They are more than content to celebrate the true meaning of the holiday. Besides they have more than they could possibly want anyway. We have our health, the love of one another & a unshakeable family bond that has seen us through the loss of my father in the last 12 months. The magic of the season & those gifts are enough for us.

    • Julia says

      January 6, 2015 at 7:31 pm

We actually celebrate the 24th not the 25th because the 24th is Jesus’ birthday. That’s how they celebrate Christmas in Germany. There is no Santa Claus on the 25th.
And I totally agree that no Christmas presents are needed.

I cannot get over how amazing that toilet paper holder is! We don’t have a single tp holder in our house. Isn’t that crazy?? 4 toilets, no holders for the paper. Crazy!

Copper is one of my favorite materials to work with and I am so glad it’s finally getting the recognition it Deserteure!
