Friday Favorites: My Summer Chic Fashion Favorites

We are getting ready to head to the beach and I just wanted to share with you today what I’ve bought to get ready for our vacation.

Buying a swimsuit or bikini is always stressful for me. Who else is with me? I do not like swim skirts and tankinis, never have. I don’t really think they are flattering. And I have only owned a few bathing suits. I usually just get a bikini because to me they are the most comfy.

I am definitely preferring plain and simple bikinis because too many seams, underwire cups and details are itchy and drive me crazy. Crochet cut out and such things are a no-no for me. I saw this cute bathing suit on Instagram the other day which a lot of bloggers have been recommending (this one HERE) but I would never feel happy in it. I also wouldn’t spend more than $40-$50 on a swimsuit. Do you spend more than that? It becomes increasingly difficult to find anything affordable the older I get though.

Because of all of the above I hadn’t bought any new swimsuits/bikinis in a really long time and it showed. But I’m happy to report that I have found some that completely make me happy and guess what it’s below $30.

In todays post I also want to share what else I have bought for my summer.

And on another note I wanted to share that our 19 year old Lucy is doing better again and even has gained some weight. I know that at her age it is temporary but it sure makes me feel better. I love that she has been actually begging for food and although I know it’s not good for her, I have been letting her eat lunch meat because she loves it and if that’s what makes her gain weight then…hey so be it!

I’m actually wearing the bikini that I bought in the above photo under the coverup dress (click HERE). They are both the exact same color. And I made the earrings with a tutorial coming soon.

My summer chic fashion favorites

So let me show you the bikini. I love a company that has models you can relate to:

The bikini is on clearance right now. The top is $12.47 and the bottoms is $9.97. Bummer that it won’t be available for much longer. And I have never owned a white-fish bikini. My mom will probably tell me that it looks like underwear but I don’t care because I don’t think it does and it’s beyond comfy.
