Pillow made from a jeans skirt
Just a quick little decor idea and DIY today. My mom asked me in Germany if I wanted one of her skirts. It used to be her favorite and she wore it so many times but she didn’t want it anymore. I always liked the skirt but hate wearing skirt myself. I never wear a skirt but I do like wearing dresses in summer time. Just can’t stand having them around my waist.
Anyways, because I do love the design of it, I immediately blurted out “But I do want it as a pillow”.
I have made pillows before but never made my own tutorial. I just used my friend Jesse’s tutorial which you can find HERE. It’s such an easy and fast way to make a zippered pillow.
But this time I didn’t make it myself. I wanted to just come home with the finished pillow because my sewing machine is broken and I didn’t know when I could either get a new one or have it fixed.
So my mom brought it to her tailor and he quickly made me a pillow I could bring home and which makes me think of my mom wearing that skirt.
Here it is in our living room.

I think this is such a fun way to bring a little bit of my mom into my home.
And it turned out to be such a fun and unique pillow.
Tschüß,
ok well now i am going to be trolling goodwill so i can make this! it’s AWESOME!
Thank you so much. It certainly helps that the skirt has a nice design on it 😉
It’s so very pretty and the perfect fit for your space! You have an incredible eye for design.
Oh thanks so much for the visit and sweet comment Julie
You had a great idea. It’s perfect for that chair.
Thanks Margaret and my mom will love seeing it there too.
Very creative idea, I like it! Makes me want to repurpose all the old jeans I gave away…
I’ve used most of my old jeans for tassels and other ribbons last christmas 😉
Amazing!!So good
Thanks my friend
Such a wonderful addition to this corner of your home! The cushion echoes the chair’s weathered look and its brass tacks and also the coloring of the fireplace surround. Best of all, it contains the story of a mother and daughter’s love for each other. So nice! When you miss your mom, hug the pillow!
I fully intend to hug the pillow 😉 thanks so much
Tis gorgeous – goes great with the lovely leather couch.
Thanks, I love it for so many reasons 😉
