New wall sconces for the staircase
Today I have another post for you about an update that I made before heading out on our trip to Germany.
For a long long time I have been wanting to replace our old and outdate staircase fixtures and I found what I was looking for in this Kenroy Endicott Sconce:
I hated the paintable ugly eighties fixtures we had there before. The lighting was terrible and the look outdated:

I had to replace two of these scones and they were really easy to switch out. As easy as matching up the same colored wires and screwing them in place.
Unfortunately the hallway is so dark when I turn off the electricity since there aren’t any windows that I couldn’t take any photos. I had to use a flash light to install them. But my friend Jennifer at The Chronicles of Home recently installed some outdoor sconces and wrote a great little tutorial on how to do it (click HERE to read). That’s pretty much exactly what I did. So easy.
Our hallway also contains our family gallery wall where I add a photo of each kid every year.

Now I’m craving color like crazy in this staircase and I wish that I’d have ordered all photos in color as well so I could easily switch them out. Maybe I’ll make myself the work and try to find all the originals in color. It’s a lot of work though!
Or maybe I’ll hang a pretty colorful DIYed tassel from these gorgeous sconces? That would be fun too.

Those are great–definitely a big improvement! And I love the gallery wall and that you add a picture every year. My gallery walls tend to stop when the kids turn 4 🙁
