Living Pretty With Your Pets: Dream Green DIY
Today’s animal loving blogger is Carrie from Dream Green DIY. I was recently lucky enough to meet her in person during my trip to Delta Faucet Company and I was smitten with her. She is the cutest and sweetest person you could imagine. And I was glad to hear we had cat talk in common.
She is super talented which has been noticed by Better Homes and Garden, Domino and other super publications.

I am so thrilled to be here today to chat about our four wild and crazy “kiddos”! Although these three kitties and our lone rescue pup only appear on my blog, Dream Green DIY, on occasion they are never more than a few feet away from me in reality. Not a day (or, really, just a minute) goes by where they don’t have my husband, John, and I rolling with laughter.
I’m sure other pet parents out there can relate, but it’s nearly impossible to avoid spontaneous cuddle fests throughout the day, especially since I spend a good part of the week working from home as a blogger and freelance writer. This urge, though, is one that I don’t ever mind indulging—and it’s one that I doubt our littles mind either!
Luna is the eldest of the bunch, and came into my life in college. I wasn’t allowed pets in my dorm room, but having grown up with upwards of 25 pets throughout the course of my childhood (thanks Mom and Dad!), I couldn’t live sans-cat any longer. Luna was a three-month-old feral stray when I got her and she took years of socializing before she felt comfortable around humans, but now she’s the queen of the household.
Ginny was actually the biggest breakthrough in my journey to rehabilitate Luna. I adopted her right after graduation, thinking that she might help to bring Luna out of her shell. Although I hadn’t really been expecting all that much, the change was drastic and almost immediate. These two felines adore one another and are constantly chasing each other around the house, generally causing mayhem.
As for how Ginny is with us (the human half of her family), there’s no one she adores more than “mom.” Coming at the slightest call from me—really!—she’s a die-hard cuddler and is just about as needy as they come.
Rocky is our only K9, but we often swear that the cats are rubbing off on him. He’s the laziest dog I know, but this makes him a big contender for “Best Cuddler” against our Ginny. If you can’t tell from his expression, he’s a bit of an Eeyore-type, moping at our feet with his quintessential puppy dog eyes. I can never, ever resist giving him scraps from the dinner table and although I’ve tried many a time to enforce a no-dogs-on-the-furniture rule, he’s pretty much impossible to deny.
And that brings us to the newest member of our family—Tonks. This cross-eyed cutie is the first animal to join our blended family post-marriage and I couldn’t imagine life without her. She’s all around teeny, from head to tale. All except her voice, that is. A garbled yowl you just have to hear to believe, you always know when Miss Tonks is ready to play—whether her siblings want to or not!
Our home is always crowded, always fur-leaden and NEVER quiet, but John and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Thanks for letting me gush and for giving our four cuties a moment in the spotlight, Julia!

Aren’t her kiddos all adorable? I now have a thing for cross-eyed cats, since Monkey is as well. Such a silly and cute look 😉
Do you guys remember when I had Kim from Yellow Brick Home (shop) a couple of weeks ago? Well Carrie just happened to have custom portraits done by Kim some time ago. We were talking about it when we met and they are so good:

I agree, nobody should keep their hands off cuteness like that. They should be cuddled all the time.
Thanks so much for having me, Julia! Makes me want to go cuddle those cuties right this second!!
So sweet- I didn’t know how many she had! Makes me want to get more kitties!
Goodness they are all adorable!! Luna looks like a black panther!!!!
Aren’t they? I always wanted a black cat. Love them all though
Aww, what cuties! Lots of cuddling going on over there, I think they’ve got her number! 🙂 Such gorgeous photography, too!
Cross eyed kitty–love it! Such cuties 🙂
Oh man, that little paw picture melts my heart. Such snuggle-bugs! My friend has a cross-eyed too, a siamese that is just adorable (and hilarious).
I have a crossed eyed cat too, so cute. And I agree about the paw photo, love it
Such cuties! And I love the custom animal art, too.
