Living Pretty With Your Pets: Craftberry Bush
Today I have someone visiting with her pup that I really admire deeply. I want you all to meet the talented Lucy, but chances are you have come across her blog already, because she is very popular and should be. Her blog Craftberry Bush is very inspiring and I got the chance to attend her class during Haven. She is a very gifted artist but on top of it she is very sweet and approachable and the real deal.
I’m so thrilled to be able to have her share her puppies story with you guys:
Hello friends. I hope you are all having a great week. My name is Lucy and I have a little blog called Craftberry Bush. There I share my passion for creativity in the hopes of inspiring others to create and find the artist within. It’s an honour to be visiting you here and to introduce you to our sweet pup, Brody.
He is so excited to be here and even dressed for the occasion. Brody is our (almost) 2- year old Tricolor Australian Sheppard and if you are familiar with his breed, you might know that they are not only very intelligent, but also very active dogs. As a matter of fact, he is barking at me (asking to play) as I type this.
They are herding dogs and considered to be work dogs. Therefore, if they are not given the proper amount of exercise, they can become bored and look to entertain themselves (read: mischief). Australian Shepherds are also extremely loyal dogs, so much so that they are referred to as “velcro” dogs. Brody will follow me everywhere around the house and if I allow him, will even follow me to the bathroom. There are times when I need to go grab something quickly in another room and even though he is comfortably sleeping, he will get up and follow me.
That is probably why you will often see Brody in a lot of my posts.
Either trying to get my attention, or actually posing for the camera.
Or sometimes just being a dog.
Because Brody has been posing for photos since he was a pup, he is very comfortable holding certain poses for the camera.
Which I find hilarious as whenever he sees me with camera at hand, he will immediately sit in front of me and wait for a command from me.
Though these dogs thrive by pleasing their owners and need ‘jobs’ to stimulate their minds, I’m pretty sure he poses as well as he does as he’s come to learn he’ll get a good reward at the end.
But regardless, he has definitely become my best and cutest prop.
Dogs have always been a big part of my life, as my dad had a soft spot for rescue dogs and would bring different dogs home to foster and care for. Every three months or so, we would welcome a new rescue into our home. But even though I have had many dogs in my life time, I have never had such a deep connection to any other dog as I do with Brody.
Perhaps it’s because I’m older and am now able to appreciate that bond between a dog and its owner a little better, or it could be because I work from home and Brody is literally by my side every hour of the day.
Whatever the reason, Brody has definitely become the baby of the family and we could not picture life without him.
He makes us laugh and feel so loved everyday.
Thank you so much for allowing me to share a little bit of me with you.
Hope to see around soon.

Anything she does leaves me inspired. She has impeccable taste and the incredible ability to style vignettes and photos. I love looking at her photos’ details.

What an adorable puppy. Brody is such a good model. I totally know what you mean about the dog posing. My Daisy does the same thing she immediately sits or lays down and gives me the model face. Dogs are just too cute and smart! 🙂 What a beautiful home, love the art piece! Thank you for sharing and happy Friday!
He is the perfect little model for all of Lucy’s amazing photos. Thanks for stopping over
I am so in love with Brody. Yes, it was love at first sight.
I have six (yes 6 pups, 3 are brand new and 3 are adults) and four inside only kitty kats and two more kitty kats that come to eat every morning and late afternoon. And I have found that I might as well let all of mine follow me to the bath……… cause they sit at the door and whine if I shut them out.
Going to check out those flowers and howyou make them……… amazing.
Love all your creatures and how you care for them Sheryll
Ahh I’m so glad Lucy was able to stop by, I admire all her work!! Such a cutie puppy!

Awwww a velcro dog is what I need. I think my neighbor’s dog is part Aussie too and she does the same. So cute
I am in love with Lucy’s dog and so enjoyed reading more. x
Thanks Danielle, he is a cutie I so agree and I love Lucy too
What a handsome boy! I’m fostering a border collie mix puppy right now….I think I’m discovering that I’m too old for herding dogs–at least the puppy variety!
I’m more the older pet hoarder myself. I get it 😉
Brody is quite the handsome fur-angel man. You have a beautiful family. Thanks for introducing us to Brody.
