Friday Favorites: light colored cuckoo clocks
My long time followers know my history with cuckoo clocks right? For those of you who are new around here you can read about my history with cuckoo clocks HERE. They were obviously why I named my blog Cuckoo4Design.
I get so many questions about the ones I have, especially the one in our living room. And I’m sure you are getting sick of hearing from me that I found stuff for really cheap, but that’s exactly what happened here again. I found the clock on Craigslist for $25. It’s not handmade but was made in Korea of all places. I don’t care though. It’s a lovely clock and I still love the fact that I painted it white.

For all you new folks around here, in addition to the big white one, I also have a brown expensive clock in my son’s room and a gold glitter cuckoo clock in my daughter’s room.
Since I get so many questions about it, I thought todays post about my favorite light colored cuckoo clocks would be fitting. And I do have to say I’m in love with the maple versions.

Which one is your favorite?
I barely ever share fashion here but today I just have to throw something in really quick because I love it so much.
I bought a dress in this shape last year at the beach and wore it non-stop all summer long. So comfy and pretty and perfect for hot summer days. Then I found and bought the above dress yesterday. It has tassels!!! (click HERE or on photo)
If you follow me on Instagram then you might have seen in my stories that I feel pretty hard while going for a run. Our sidewalks are really uneven and I tripped on an unloved piece of concrete. I was so happy that I didn’t break anything but also really mad at the township for never fixing this stuff. Now my hands all all bandaged up and I’m sick of exercising. I have to try to finally get going with my fireplace mantel though. I hope my hands and shoulder heal fast. Wish me luck.
And Happy Easter Weekend.
Tschüss ,
love those clocks! it makes me sad that pieces like cuckoo clocks which were beautifully carved and hand made are becoming obsolete.
Oh I know. Everything is mass produced. But it also makes it more affordable for us who can’t afford it.
I am glad you weren’t seriously hurt. I have always loved Cuckoo clocks too!
Thanks Sheryll, I’m glad I didn’t break anything too
I am a fan of white modern cuckoo clocks. Number 7 is my favorite…. I bought the clock several years ago and I still love it.
Oh good to know it holds up well! Happy Easter weekend
Funny you should post this today. Other than my tiny (now pink) Cuckoo I never purchased one while living in Germany but this past weekend when I spotted a medium sized one at an estate sale for about half what I would have paid it new, I snapped it up. It is not a fancy one but I think it will still be a cute addition, maybe painted white or something bold…you know me!
Yay, that’s so super exciting. Can’t wait to see what you do with it
I really love the light colored clocks! Ryan brought back a “fancy” one from Germany and it had to find a perfect spot in the house. First priority. But I’d love to find something I could paint. (Ryan would never allow it.)
I’m sure you could find one on good old Craigslist.
Love these! I like 3, 5, and 8 the most. We just got a huge ccuckoo clock from my aunt and uncle and now I’m obsessed.
Oh awesome that you got a big one
