Dining Room Lighting
I’m so sorry for you pet Friday lovers but I feel like I might need a brake over the summer from the series. There is just so much going on and the pressure of having to make sure I find a great story and making sure it gets submitted on time has put me in the mood for a break. Do you know what I mean? But I’m planning on once in a while have one when I find that right story and photos.
And there are other things on my mind right now. For example I’m still farting around with my dining room lighting amongst some other things.
I still really really have my heart set on my beloved urchin chandelier but every now and then I think about DIYing a different option or I browse the web and find something else that I like as well.
So today I just feel like sharing some more lighting with you that I came across and just love.
For some reason I really really adore this unique urchin type wood chandelier from an Etsy shop called industlamp.
It’s just so different and could really add some warmth and texture. I have to admit that I’ve had it in my shopping cart more than once already:
And the same shop is selling this wooden artichoke/flower chandelier:
And you guys all know ho much I love Jonathan Adler, and I love his style. He designs the best lighting ever (just check it all out HERE). His Meurice chandelier is just so pretty but the price is not.
It would look pretty in my dining room.
So when I came across the Bali Goldtone 22-light Chandelier on Overstock, I stopped in my tracks.
It’s so similar but the horizontal lines really really bug me, don’t you think so? Why did they do that? It looks so off to me.
Could it be DIYed to have it look the same as the Jonathan Adler fixture? $188.99 compared to $1,125 is certainly much better.
I also adore this copper chandelier but don’t really care for the glass shades because they remind me of cheap vanity lighting. I’d take them off and use some cool light bulbs instead.
What do you think?
And have a good weekend my friends. We will have our first neighborhood block party this weekend and I’m really looking forward to it.
Talk to you on Monday.

oooh i love that first one! love the organic feel!
No matter what other peeps say, I love it too. It’s so different from the regular sputnik and urchin
I don’t like the first one for your house/dining room less you have totally changed it since I last saw a photo. I like the last one the best, but then what is wrong with the one you have? I just loved it and still love it the best. In fact if you no longer want it, please think of me?
I totally love that first one. I want to hang the one I have over our basement bar, it would look so great
That first one blows my mind. Love it and it’s so different!!
That’s exactly how I feel about the first one. So different
Yes I love it too and wish I could DIY the cheap one to look like this
I love them all! 🙂 And I love your funky style. I am more traditional, but I love the look when somebody will toss in 1 or 2 modern/bold pieces like one of these lights . **also – off the subject – love your new profile picture! you look pretty & relaxed w/ your fuzzy friend 🙂 **
Awww thanks so so much!
I do love the Adler, but yes, the horizontal lines of the similar one are SO off-putting, somehow! But, there has just got to be a way to hang it the other way, don’t you think? I can see you coming up w/ something brilliant.
Btw, I own a Dutton/Brown urchin (etsy) and have it above my dining table and I really do love it. It was worth it.
That urchin has definitely captured my heart. I just love it so much. Which one do you have?
OK the first one is AMAZING! I have yet to see one like it!
I love it too. It’s a show stopper
That artichoke is awesome! And, yeah, the horizontal light isn’t nearly as good–why?!
That light just looks odd to me
That Overstock knock off is a great find, I wish they had hung it the other way like you said.
Me too, why did they do that?
Get me that artichoke pendent now!! Beautiful!
