How was your Labor Day weekend? We had a little issue with Hermine and the weather report. We went to the beach last Thursday, had a beautiful day on the beach on Friday which ended with the most amazing sunset of the year. Then on Saturday the weather changed so much due to approaching Hermine. The waves were up all the way to the dunes and the wind was so strong that one of the lifeguard stands blew over. They mentioned recommended evacuation because of fear that the bayside would flood and we would be stuck on the 7-mile island which didn’t sound appealing in bad weather with two fighting and bored kids. So we packed everything up again and left on Saturday and then spend all day at a soccer tournament on Sunday. Ahhhhhh so much driving and packing and unpacking.
Then my son turned 14 yesterday and I still can’t believe he is that old already. Love him.

So today I’m just going to pop in with some short little things. I know there has been much of that popping in lately but hopefully there will be some more substantial stuff to share next week because I’m participating in Marty’s blog hop again for fall which I always enjoy and I hope you do too. I still have to get ready for that.

So first of all do you remember what I had planned for our bathroom for lighting fixtures? (click HERE to read more about the plans and pendant options if you are new to my blog)

Love those Etsy wood bead pendants (like this one HERE) but wanted to make my own.

I had bought some beads on Etsy which ended up being pretty small and not right. When I went to Pottery Barn yesterday, I saw a couple strands of giant wood beads and they were on sale!!! Click HERE to see them and read the details but they are unfortunately not available online anymore. You could however run to your local Pottery Barn to see if they still have them like they did at mine. Maybe you will get lucky too.

Aren’t they awesome? Look how big they are compared to my hand! And even if my DIY doesn’t work out because I still didn’t get a hold of my electrician (I’ve been trying since I started the bathroom makeover), I can still imagine many other possibilities on how to use them in my decor.

Love when I find something that excites me this much.

Another quick mention is that I was featured in another local magazine and made the front cover.

Once again that’s it for today.

Happy Hump Day.

congrats on the magazine feature! I have way too many short little dropping in posts lately, too….I need about twice as many hours in the day so I can get more done!

Wow! Congrats on the feature article ~ your place shows beautifully in pictures.

On another note, the Hermine hysteria was unfounded. We were on the beach on Sunday and Monday. Avalon and Stone Harbor seem to subscribe to the “better safe than sorry” theory.????

Oh, congratulation on the magazine feature. This decoration style is very impressive. I like the bedroom with wild patterns and green plant (it is a banana tree, right?).

It is a faux banana tree actually. I’ve had it for 14 years and still love it.
