A blue MCM button tufted chaise
I continue my quest for a new seating addition in our living room today while I’m also making over my daughter’s room 😉
Maybe you missed my post from last week where I talked about the lovely swivel chairs from HomeGoods that I tried out in our living room. The arm height and overall feeling was just wrong.
I’ve been also looking at a variety of chaises for the living room for a while since a chaise would connect the two seating areas really well without obstructing the view but also give a comfy spot for lounging and sprawling out to watch TV.
The hard part is finding a chaise that works well with the space. There are so many pretty options but either the color is wrong, the price, the size, or the style.

I spotted the following chaise during my browsing and thought it was worth giving it a shot since it’s super affordable, beautiful, come in a variety of colors, and happens to be the same depth and length as my larger sofa which it would be facing in our living room.
To me ordering from Amazon is definitely a plus. This chaise had free shipping for Prime members and if you want to return it, it’s pretty hassle-free too.
A blue chaise that goes with all the blue tones in our living room would be so so nice, so I ordered this chaise. Isn’t it pretty?
It looks so great with my DIY stacked Ombre tassel, doesn’t it?
And of course, there is a “but” involved in this story.

Once again it just didn’t feel right and it’s not because the piece isn’t beautiful. It ended up not being the shade of blue I wanted which you can see below.
That fact wouldn’t have been all that bad if the depth would have felt right but it didn’t.
See what I mean? Even though it’s the same depth as our couch to feels much slimmer due to the back missing. We just need something more substantial for this spot.
That said, I do have to say it is a beautiful affordable piece and if you are in need of a bench/chaise for in front of your bed like we have in our bedroom (click HERE to see bedroom), then this is the perfect piece for you. You just can’t beat the price and it comes in other colors too.
One more little advice which was a minus for me too. Don’t buy it if you have cats. This blue is a woven fabric and snags like crazy! And cats love to burry their claws in it. I’ve had once piece of upholstery like this already and it was awful. I’m not sure if only the blue fabric is woven or if all the colors are. I do know that microfiber fabrics work out much better with pets.

UPS came and picked it up again and it only cost me $22 extra which is so affordable for trying out a large piece of furniture like this. And I’m so so glad I gave it a try because now I can narrow my choices down even more.
Tschüß,
too bad it didn’t work but i know you will come up with something awesome!
I think I will find something too
