Christmas 2014 Magazine Cover
Hey everyone, I hope I’m not boring you to death with all the posts about magazine features but it’s just way to exciting for me not to share on my blog. Last year’s Christmas decor (click HERE to see the entire Christmas home tour) has made it to the front cover of Canadian Home Trends magazine. I’m so happy to see that my own photography has improved so much that it looks good in print. Photos have to be clear, crisp and high resolution enough to look good. With my previous camera magazine feature requests have never worked out because when the editors saw the actual files, they rejected them because they just weren’t good enough.
Unfortunately my scanner isn’t great either and it doesn’t look as good as the actual magazine and you can’t buy the magazine here in the US. I get a lot of questions about where I bought what. Some things are of course not available anymore, where made by me or are thrifted but I put together a very similar look for you. Click on + icons in the below image. I hope it works too because I have never done this before.
If you missed the tutorial for the curtains, you can see them HERE. I just made 7 panels of them. I got the hang of it and how to make them faster but they are still pretty time consuming. I do think they are well worth the effort and I adore how they look in our living room. It’s the change I have been craving. I also added THIS gorgeous ADANA-FUCHSIA+GOLD throw from Happy Habitat and it will look great with our Christmas decor.
Do you remember the Happy Habitat throw I already have in our bedroom? Let me refresh your memory:
I haven’t been DIYing all that much besides decorating for Christmas, making curtains, working on the (messy) stair makeover and having my mom here but I guess that is truly enough in itself isn’t it? And I also have the gift guide on my blog pages now if you missed it (click HERE) where I share some things I love with lots of Etsy goodies and some other random stuff. And just in case I don’t post on Wednesday, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. I should be back on Black Friday though because I have been checking out more Etsy stores. Talk to you soon. Tschüß

This is absolutely gorgeous, worthy of a magazine cover for sure! Congrats on your photography, too! I definitely think that’s a big deal, and you have to feel like you’ve reached a new level when you’ve essentially produced your own magazine shoot. Really cool!
