One of my all time favorite aperitifs is the Italian “Aperol Spritz” which is very popular all over Europe. “Spritz” is a German term for adding a splash of Seltzer water to white wines. And is believed to be originated in the 19th century.

You generally use either Prosecco, champagne or white wine. I used white wine today because that’s what I had at home.

aperol spritz recipe which is aperol with wine, seltzer water, ice and a slice of orange

Aperol Spritz

ingredients:

3 parts white wine or Prosecco
2 parts Aperol
1 splash of seltzer
ice cubes in wine glass
a slice of orange

white wine, aperol, orange and seltzer used to make Aperol Spritz
Let me show you:

So yummy! Regardless how you like aperitif or wine, you should definitely try @SantaMargheritaUSA’s flavorful Italian wines. I know it will be on my wine rack from now on. Delicious!

Tschüss

ok that dish looks delicious! also i love your hair like that! AND we have the same taste in wine- i don’t like sweet either. pinot grigio was once my favorite but i discovered that white started giving me headaches so now i go with reds- dry full body oaky is my favorite! this is why we need to live near one another.

You cut your hair!!!! Looks great too!
Yuuuuum! I love Doodles $ wine myself. And being a retired bartender (among several other trades) I have been making Spritzers more years than I am willing to admit. I have never tasted Aperol and will try and remember to buy it for a try. Campari and I will say it took me a few different tastings to acquire a taste for it and still not a favorite for me. Looking forward to trying the Aperol.

Your post reminds me of another Blogger who I follow. His site is called “A Garden For The Kitchen”. You both share a love for wine. I think you will enjoy his recipes and writing style.
