So much has been going on over here that I once again feel a tad bit overwhelmed which is the reason for my lack of posting on Monday.

I want to fill you in though.

I’m working on several projects but have completely stalled on my staircase. It looks awful.
But I’m getting ahead with making more of my DIY curtains (click HERE if you missed the tutorial) and I’ve also accomplished painting my barstools a fresh coat of paint to make them look like new which was so necessary after everyone putting there dirty shoes on them for two years.

I love how the curtains look with the fireplace area:

If you missed my post on Facebook then you probably don’t know that my Monkey cat has gotten really ill. Cats are very good at hiding when they don’t feel good and then they go downhill fast and this always appears to be happening over the weekend for me. I was so worried about her because of the way she was acting and she felt like skin and bones. I took her to the vet first thing very early Monday morning and my husband’s cousin ran a bunch of tests. She has a bladder infection but also something else must be going on because she lost three pounds since her last visit which is a lot for such a tiny cat. She now weighs only 5.8 pounds. Look at her skinny little face:

We are suspecting that something else is going on with her but aren’t sure what it could be yet. I have been syringe feeding her the cat equivalent to ensure and as a result of that she hides from me because she hates it. She is high on pain meds, anti nausea meds and antibiotics and is just not a happy camper. I’m praying she’ll pull through.

You can only imagine that it costs a lot of money and to top things off my son got braces last night. Sigh! That could have been flights to Germany for the entire family right there. Every time I feel like I’m getting ahead a little, there are big set backs. But I always have to remind myself that most of it isn’t really bad things and we are very lucky in general.
I’ve been wanting to write an update on my daughter as well just haven’t found the time to sit down and write about it.

I’m happy to have my mom come for a visit again on Sunday. She hasn’t been here in a long time, almost three years.

I have started decorating for Christmas since I’ll be participating in two tours but I also want my mother to see my house decorated for Christmas since she never has. That is so sad.

My Etsy shop takes up quite some time on certain days.

And to top things off in a good way, I started to contribute for BHG.com which is the Better Homes and Gardens website. You can see my first two contributions HERE and HERE. I will be sharing round-ups and also some pet contributions here and there.

That’s it my friends. Hope you are hanging in there too.

Tschüß

I am praying for little Monkey kitty. You have to take care of yourself and not feel obligated to say yes to everything. Only yes to the things that make you happiest. Congrats on being a contributor to BHG. Your fans will be here for you. So glad your mom is coming to visit….how much fun.

Oh hun, I’m so sorry about Monkey – I really hope she pulls though, it’s so awful to see them like that and you feel so helpless to help them. I lost Senna (our ginger girl) due to kidney disease but only because she was so odd anyway, it was hard to see a shift in her behaviour and we caught it too late. I do hope they have caught it all in time for your little girl and she starts feeling well again. Chin up, my friend, and look forward to your mom’s visit – also, I reckon I might have been too late with the book!! Gah! I only posted them out this week so it may not reach her in time for her visit! If not, let me know and I’ll post another directly to you and she can keep that one ๐Ÿ˜‰ xxx

That’s ok, I’ll get the book when I’m there next summer.
Monkey is doing a little better but I have to get myself prepared for the fact that she won’t get really old most likely. She has a bladder infection, kidney disease and also pancreatitis which is why she wasn’t eating. I’m praying that her kidneys won’t fail and let her live for much longer.

So sorry to hear about Monkey. I know how much you love your pets, and it feels just awful when they are sick! Sorry things have been crazy lately, but it sounds like there’s so much good mixed in with that crazy! I’ll be praying for Monkey and you as the Christmas season kicks up and it feels like there isn’t enough time to get everything done!
