mix and match patio furniture tips
Last week I showed you guys my favorite dining tables and the one that I purchased. I mentioned that I dislike sets, so I had to see what I would pair my table with. To mix and match patio furniture is just as easy as it is on the inside of your home.
I just had to see what was out there even though I mentioned I probably have to wait until the funds increase a little again. Who knows when that will be, maybe if I find a coupon somewhere.

I found so many good ones and really like that they are somewhat different from the table style.
Mixing and matching patio furniture, the same way I do with furniture inside my house makes everything look more high-end. In our dining room, the table chairs and antique settee are all from different sources and I love the collected look. I wish you could thrift patio furniture but that is something that just doesn’t work well since the pieces are being used outside and when people replace them they are definitely worn down. I mean you can repaint them but I’ve done that so many times with an old set I’ve had that I’d prefer not to do it again. “Id’ prefer not to” is my husband’s favorite sentence by the way. Remember I bought him a shirt with the phrase on it for Christmas the one year? You can find it HERE. Lol!

My favorite patio chairs
We have a lot of blue and white decor mixed with some black and white in our yard and home, so I definitely gravitate towards the chairs that have blue in them or that are black.
1 | 2 | 3 and 4 are my favorites. I think I’m definitely gravitating towards number three though and not having to place cushions on a chair is a huge plus in my book. It drives me crazy with our current chairs. If you don’t have the cushions on the chairs, you sit way too low to comfortably eat your food. On mixed weather days, I tend to go crazy.
My mix and match patio furniture tips
- have fun with it
- coordinate the colors with the rest of your house and decor
- don’t be afraid of mixing would or metal finishes
- watch out for the scale, you don’t want the table to swallow up the chairs or vice versa
- and don’t be afraid to mix styles
I’m also planning on making some new pieces to hang on the fence by the pool and purchased some different types of synthetic string to make a more durable outdoor macrame piece to hang up as well. Some testing needs to be done first though.
Find out how to make the tassel umbrella! I love the look.
