  1. love all the plans and i know you will be ok in no time to paint- don’t rush it so you can fully recover!!! what are the plans for the dresser???

  2. Sorry to hear about your arm and shoulder! I have been down that chiropractor 2 times a wk bit! It’s frustrating!!! Your plans all sound great although I do love your hallway already! I can’t wait to see your black or blue bathroom!! You know we love that look!! And since I have one of the best labs in the world… Newman, you could probably get me to write a letter from him:) he already has a voice we use for him and it’s a bit like Eyore (sp??) haha!!

  3. Ambitious list my dear! I’m sure it will all look fab when I’m done. I’m especially looking forward to that chaise makeover…I think it’s time! Glad to hear porch kitty is happy and back where she belongs. xo

  4. Hope you find out something from the MRI, if that’s the route you go and get relief.
You sure do have a lot of painting to look forward to!!! Have fun….I know you will stay busy.

  5. I love dark bathrooms…but, we had our old master bath painted navy blue, and although I loved it…the water streaks were horrible. I’d constantly have to wipe down the walls because you could see all the drips. I think it would be great in a half bath, but just proceed with caution in a full bathroom 🙂

  7. I always look forward to your projects but take care of yourself first!
I love the animal series, but I guess you’ll have to wait to see what your readers say?
Glad the frigid weather has passed and porch kitty is back outside where she seems to be happy…

  8. I love cat related posts! And I really hope you’re feeling better soon and figure it all out. there’s nothing more frustrating than wanting to do something and not being able to do it!

  9. You have so many awesome ideas – I can’t wait to see how they turn out! If I made a list like that it would be so overwhelming because there’s still so much to do in this house… Not-fun stuff like finishing ceilings and stripping wallpaper. When I’m doing all that, I’ll come over here to see your pretty projects 🙂

I hope your arm and shoulder get better soon! Make sure you give yourself time to rest them!

  10. Kimberly Bruhn says:

My best friend and I’ve both had shoulder issues. I had what was called “frozen shoulder” and I got help with physical therapy twice a week for a couple months plus some at-home exercises…my friend has a torn rotator cuff and she is going to surgery since the therapy didn’t help. I hope, hope you can go the route of the therapy…I did have an MRI to determine the “cause.” If you get an “open” MRI it’s not too bad! Good luck!

    1. Thank you! I still haven’t made an MRI appointment. Hoping that the Chiropractor can help. I’m feeling a little better today.

  11. I’d love to read a series on living with pets. We have 2 low shedding seal-point siamese, adopted from the local shelter. He’s allergic, my step-son is allergic but does fine if they stay out of his room. I might be allergic as well. I hate the hair. I can’t stand cat hair everywhere – on my pillow, clothes, furniture. You clean the floor and a few days later the floor looks the same. We also have an english setter, but she’s a garage dog that sleeps inside sometimes. These are all my husbands pets. I’m at the point in my life I can do without them. It’s a source of tension in my marriage since I don’t get much help with cleaning up all the animal hair.

    1. Have your husband buy you a Roomba vacuum cleaner, that drives around and does the work for you. I feel for you husband though too because I would never want to give up my animals.
      That’s so sad.

  12. love the plans, excited for the pet series! We have a cat who we’ve had since she was a tiny kitten who we absolutely cannot keep inside. We tried for over a year, but she would camp out by the door and dart outside every single time it opened. She also gets really miserable and takes it out on all of us with her claws if we try to keep her in. I feel guilty about letting her out, but I’d feel guilty making her miserable for the rest of her life, too.

  13. animal lover here, and i love talking about my dog. I am a crazy dog lady. I know this…

although I LOVE all the photos you posted, i also will probably love the changes you have planned. Good luck with all of your plans!

  14. SO sorry Julia, I know it’s got to be making you absolutely crazy having to put your diys on the back burner till you heal! I always love your makeover projects and a pet series sounds fun!

  15. I am so hoping your hurts heal up and do not continue to cause pain. I love all your ideas too. But please think and think again before painting your bathroom black….. I thought of this also and decided to NOT do it.

Hey the kitty is happy outside and has a shelter many do not have, so she loves you for that I am sure.

    God Bless!

Oh I would love to hear about your readers fur brats….. errr pets…… lol….. that is what I sometimes call my fur kids…. lol.

  16. Love the plans, but make sure to take care of you! Yes I’d love to see all the decorating and changing, but get that shoulder and arm better!

  17. Hello my friend – and a Happy new year’s to you and yours! Sorry to hear about your shoulder and how it’s giving you so much gyp. Not good. I’m loving all those random ideas racing around in your head, keeping you motivated and upbeat as we gallop full-steam into the Year of the Horse. Good on ya, girl! I’m a sucker for animals, so from me I’m saying, “bring it on”!!! 😀 xo

  18. So sorry you’re still having issues with your arm. Hope it heals soon!

I’m looking forward to seeing what exciting plans you have for your hallway!

  19. I’ve so enjoyed reading your blog and seeing what you come up with next! Having been a scenic painter for community theater for nearly 20 years, I’ve come up with some pretty fun ideas to use around the house. One of my faves is to paint a room with semi-gloss (whatever color) then tape it off in stripes (I like to use about 2 inch stripes best) and sponge the alternating stripes with matte finish paint in the SAME color. It is striking in a bathroom or dining room and reminds me of brocade. Just a little food for thought, not that you need it! Bless you for taking care of the stray kitties!

    1. Oh I totally love that too, YES! And thanks so much for the sweet words!

  20. More cats – purrfect 🙂 Looking forward to that!
And if you change the feets on that chaise – I want them! Looks like magic little pumpkins…

  21. Great plans. And thanks for the cat update. It sounds like you have found a plan that works for you ALL including the Monkey 🙂

  22. I hope your arm heals quickly and completely. I hate these little injuries that can interrupt our lives. But however long it takes I still love seeing the pictures of your home. The red mirror – is it in your bedroom? I loooooove it. 🙂
