How was the weekend? I always have to ask that question, right?
So I have been thinking, especially since every blog you click on right after New Years has home goals, plans and resolutions. So far I have tried to stay away from planning since my life has been a little chaotic lately. I’m sick of mentioning my shoulder and arm but 2 times a week at the chiropractor hasn’t done much good yet and it is hard to plan home DIY projects when you don’t feel so good.
I might have to get an MRI now after all.
But, I won’t lie, I have some ideas in the back of my head. And I thought I’d share a little bit. No pressure, right?
So I mentioned before that I wanted to change my hallway stripes, right? And I finally had a lightbulb moment. I’m so excited to change it. Maybe the hubby can help me slap some paint on 😉 because this one will be easy.
Nothing mind blowing or revolutionary but I’m excited!
I want to finally reupholster this chaise in our bedroom and yes I’m scared to do it because of the button tufts. They are sewn diamond shapes and I’d like to have the same look in a light plain fabric.
I’d also like to possibly change the feet.
I have to paint my daughter’s roller shade. Since they are still the black and white stripes which aren’t the best look for her new bedroom decor.
• I want to paint one of my bathrooms black or dark navy. Just don’t know yet if it will be ours or the kids’ bath. Both need my attention and aren’t pretty at all.
• I’d love to paint some more curtains to switch out in our downstairs.
• painting my upstairs silver dresser a different color:
And there are some more ideas floating around in my head but it pretty much all involves using my arm and shoulder.
And with everything being pretty slow right now and me trying to fix my aches and pains, I have been thinking about starting a blogging series. I thought about doing something a little different. Everyone knows how much I love our pets/cats. I love all animals and I get the feeling that most of my readers do too. Soooooo I was thinking, why not have my fellow DIY/design bloggers talk about their pets on my little blog? Something along the lines of “Living pretty with your pets!” Wouldn’t that be fun to get to know their beloved creatures?
Does that sound like something you would want to read?
And for those of you who have messaged me or written emails to find out about our porch kitty. Here is a little update:
We have been calling her “Monkey” because she sounds like a monkey when she meows. Anyways, she is back outside on our front porch in her heated box. And before you get upset, I have to tell you that she just wasn’t happy inside. The frigid weather is gone and she couldn’t stand being boxed in inside. She was crying and scratching at the door every night and I felt so bad for her. Our cats and her don’t like each other and you can’t really expect that from a cat that has fought for food and shelter her entire life that she will make friends with her enemies.
My husband and I were fighting over this situation too and it was just really stressful for everyone involved.
If the weather gets really bad again, then she can come inside again of course!
She is back to her happy self on our porch and we have the same routine and friendship.
