New Honeycomb Kitchen Light and Project Highlights
It was a somewhat lazy weekend for me. I mean lazy in the project department, but I feel like I needed it. I spent my time with the kids and some friends.
Sunday evening I went skiing again. I can’t believe this weather! More snow? At the end of March? I’m glad I love to ski…otherwise this winter would seam endless. I’m sure that’s how the rest of you feel about it 😉 right?
I don’t know if you noticed in my house tour at Kirsten’s from 6TH STREET DESIGN SCHOOL (click HERE) on Friday that I bought a new kitchen light. And I love it. I can’t stop looking at it.
Isn’t it beautiful?
It is the Honeycomb Glass Pendant Shade from Urban Outfitters (click here)
I decided to take the silver chains, that are attached to the light off.
I like it better that way.
What do you think?
You like it as much as I do?

you know i love that light! did you get it wired with a simple kit and then put it over it? i was just curious how that worked when i saw it on their site, but LOVED it!
I was lucky enough to use a can light converter kit and use this as a shade. I only had to buy a large washer to make it fit.
And you should buy it!!!
I love that light!! I love that you added a pop of color and your new kitchen looks great!! xo Kristin
Thanks Kristin! I’m stalling with the rest of the kitchen finishes though!
Wow you are such a talented DIYer! Congrats on the feature over at 6th Street! Was so excited to see your place there! Also, I’m loving that light ALOT. Beautiful!
Thanks Tiffany!
Hey! Saw your blog on 6th street and was wondering if you have a source list for your paints? Immediate searching for the perfect greys for my living room and nursery and yours seem quite nice! Thanks!!
Hi Jessie, I totally have to add the paint colors somewhere on my blog 😉
The paints are Valspar from Lowes:
In my living room: Seashell Gray 4003-1A
In my dining room: Rocky Bluffs 4003-1C
Both are in eggshell 😉
Julia I think that was a brilliant idea to remove the chains. It looks fantastic!
Thanks Patty!
Ahhhhh…I can’t get enough of those plates! Ridiculously amazing!!
Aww that’s so sweet…thanks!
I love your corner sink and how bright everything is. That light fixture is wonderful.
Thank you so much!
Very pretty lighting fixture! Urban Outfitters is always a good source for unique home decor.
We didn’t get a lot of snow where I live…but about 1/2 north of us got hit with 4 – 5 FEET of snow. My husband went snow mobiling over the weekend which gave me plenty of time to work on projects without being disturbed 😉
Sounds like my kind of weekend. I love being snowed in and getting projects done!
So pretty! Love the custom lookit gives to your kitchen.
Thanks Jennifer
Your new honeycomb looks beautiful in the kitchen, it’s so different/unique (colors are beautiful too!) 🙂

I love the mint too and thanks Amy!
I was scrolling through your recent posts since I was little MIA the last 2 weeks and this pendant light literally jumped off the page. OMG, I love it! And that minty green is beautiful. Its so unexpected in a kitchen which makes me love it even more. Terrific buy Julia!
There she is 😉 and thank you so much Christina!
What a beautiful light fixture, I would stare at it all day too ! I’m going to go check out your house tour…..
are you concerned about the lighting kit holding the weight of the pendant shade by itself? i am in the middle of hanging this same pendant light with a kit from homedepot and i want to remove the chain so i can hang it lower over my dining room table but my husband is worried about the weight. what do you think?
