Living Pretty With Your Pets: The Office Stylist
I’m back with the pet series today and starting the series with a little furry adorable diva. I want you guys to meet Sayeh “The Office Stylist”. Anything you need to know about stylish offices. She’s the go to gal and she adores black and white decor just like me.
Hi everyone, this will sound funny because most people don’t believe it when I say that Kamea (my gorgeous cat) was meant for me from day 1. It all started back in 2008 when I was visiting family/in-laws in Wisconsin. My mother-in-law had gotten a new cat which is odd for her since she’s a dog breeder. It turned out she traded one of her super cute show puppies for a pure bred chinchilla Persian kitten.
When I arrived and laid eyes on Kamea, I instantly fell in love with this fluffy, sassy ball of fur. My mother-in-law looked at me and said “do you want to take her home with you?” At the time I had a cat already who didn’t do well with other cats. Some cats are just like that. So I politely declined. And my man said that he didn’t understand why his mother had gotten her in the first place.
I spent the rest of the trip with her on my lap and following me around the house. I was also trying to work during my stay out there and she was on my lap even while I was working. I was in LOVE with this little kitty but sadly knew I had to leave her there.
Fast-forward to a years later and my poor cat suddenly passed away. It was the hardest thing and still to this day it makes me sad to think about. I called my mother-in-law and told her what had happened. And I asked her if the offer still stood to take Kamea from her. She instantly agreed. A Few weeks later I flew her out on Pet Airways (now closed, sadly) and she’s been my baby ever since.
Some fun things to know about her:
• She’s very chatty, she will literally reply to anything you ask her with different meow tones
• She is super playful, spunky and has a ton of SASS
• She greets me at the door every time I come home, much like a dog
• She plays fetch (not joking)
• She LOVES shortbread cookies
• She has to sleep curled in my arms and next to my face
• Her name means “precious one” in Hawaiian

I believe the fetch playing for sure since my little Lucy plays fetch as well. You also have to check out Sayeh’s story HERE about why you should cat proof your office! And HERE is a link to Sayeh’s Etsy shop which she just reopened.
I personally love THIS print of hers:

i am not a cat person, but kamea is SOOOOo beautiful! and i love her story and sass!
I believe cats choose us. She is beautiful and she matches your decor perfectly.
I believe they choose us too.
I’ve never had a cat until this month when we took in a stray kitty. (my husband was very sneaky about it) Oh my goodness, I love this little ball of fur. My next thought was that I need to research your blog for cat tips and living pretty with cats!! lol Loved reading about Kamea and now I’m a cat person. Who knew.
I’m all ears for cat questions Kathy and so happy you adore your little fur ball. Cats are strange, cool and fun.
Awww she’s just gorgeous!! I totally agree that cats choose us too 😉 (I think this is what makes them cooler than dogs but don’t tell Quito I said that lol) xxx
Haha, I won’t mention a thing to him 😉
Oh heaven above, that little ball of fluff is so gorgeous. Tell me she gets her way, the whole way!
Isn’t she? I love her big eyes
fluffy! Our orange tabby definitely chose my husband (and is still very much HIS cat); that was the only way we were going to leave the animal shelter with a kitten that day 😉
Awwwww love when that happens.
