Gnomeo and Julia
It’s been a super busy weekend again and I only found a short amount of time to work on projects. The weekend was spent with wrestling, school projects, play dates and a birthday dinner.
This is a sneak peak of my painting that I have been working on for the living room. I just love to paint and I hope that I will find more time to do it again.
It’s a close up! So there is more of it! |
Here are some snap shots of some Christmas presents that I got from the hubby. Yup, I’ve been playing with my new iPhone again and you might have seen the photos on my Instagram already, but most likely you haven’t. Instagram is addicting, isn’t it? Especially when you are visual person like me.
I love this ZGallerie white and gold bowl. |
ZGallerie silver octopus |
There are more things that I got for Christmas and they will probably pop up here and there.
Are you wondering about the title of my post? Well here it goes.
I was so excited to bring this little fella (aka Gnomeo) home. I have been eyeing him up for almost a year. He started out at Urban Outfitters with my owl night light. Yes, he is a night light and looks so sweet when he is on. I saw him a month before Christmas for $50 at Target and the cheapo within me didn’t allow me to buy him. Last Friday I went to Target and “tada”, there on a lonely shelf in the back, he sat all by himself without a box and I grabbed him. They couldn’t tell me how much he was. He was amongst some other sale items that I wanted.
So I ran to guest services with all the sale items and the lovely store manager sold him to me for $5…5 freakin dollars since that was the price of all the other little nick-nacks. I almost hugged the guy. I smiled and sang “GNOME I’m taking you HOME” all the way back in the car. And I’m not kidding at all, I really did sing “gnome I’m taking you home”.
That afternoon I turned on the Ellen DeGeneres Show while working on my painting and she gave away a gnome. No joke! Same day! It’s almost like it was gnome day! So I knew it was meant to be. Gnomeo and Julia, how perfect! It’s just another one of those things that I thought I could possibly ever ever love, like cuckoo clocks. Gnomes and cuckoo clocks! Haha!
This is one of the other items I brought home from Target:
Junk in the Trunk |
I mentioned this ceramic jar in a post before Christmas. And I also got it for $5 at Target. I think I will keep it next to my computer to keep my cables in.
So what have you been up to this weekend? Do you like my Gnomeo 😉 ?
“Your Gnome is home….your Gnome is home….” Fa la la la….
LOL, yes he is!
i LOVE your gnome and your tree trunk!!!!! awesome stuff!
Thanks Cassie, I do too 🙂
Love the colors in that painting and the silver octopus is perfect! Your hubby did good!
Yes he did
2nd try
Wow, those are some fabulous finds….love em’!! Nothing better than when you score something you LOVE for a great deal!
I know and I’m so glad I didn’t buy them right away. I hate when something that I just bought goes on sale and I paid a lot more for it.
Oooo I can’t wait to see the rest of your painting! I still can’t believe you got that Gnome for $5!!! Such an amazing deal 🙂
I can’t believe it either. I’m glad I waited 😉
Everything is just beautiful. I am so happy for you and that you had a wonderful Christmas. And also Happy New Year. Did you and the family eat your blackeyed peas and turnip (collard or other greens) on NY’s Day? I did not. I decided it didn’t really work for me. (lol) I hope this post does not get lost in cyberland this time…. grin.
Thanks Sheryll and your comment didn’t get lost. I hate when that happens.
No greens for us either 😉
