The past week has been bitter sweet for me. My little princess went off to full-day Kindergarten. (We miss each other terribly) And my favorite little man (or I call them the loves of my life) turned 10. I really can’t believe he is that old already. Don’t feel bad that I don’t call my husband the love of my life. I love him dearly don’t get me wrong but I always explain it this way: My children (and I’m sure it’s the same way for you if you have kids) can do anything and everything to me and I will continue to love them. They could hurt me in the worst way and I wouldn’t leave them. But this doesn’t apply to my husband…if he cheats on me, treats me like garbage… I’m not sticking around like I would for my kids. You feelin me?
So I had pictured having all this time to do projects and blog when the kids are in school but I had a wake-up call! I’m still running around busy barely getting my stuff done but it’s just WAY quieter than before.
I was and am really busy. Amongst other things I’ve been having blogging problems with set-ups, my feedburner button isn’t working and I can’t put links on my pictures. Frustrating and I don’t know how to fix it. Anybody know how to fix it?
Over Labor Day I ordered a couple of new rugs. Great deals! I went for bargain indoor/outdoor rugs since one of my older cats has been having lots of accidents. It’s been driving me nuts. Turns out he has a very bad bladder infection. Poor guy! I just want to be able to “hose” (not that I would use one in my house) a mess off if needed and not ruin my nice wool rugs. And thank GOD to “Nature’s Miracle”! Really! If you have pets or even small kids, it really does miracles. Blood, vomit, diarrhea…you name it! Helps with the smell too. I’ve become and expert in cleaning yucky messes. I should write a post about this alone.
Anyway, here is a picture of the new indoor/outdoor rug from Overstock.

I got it for $180 ($2.99 shipping) but now it says $218.99. I was bummed that the package was ripped and one corner was stained black. Hate when this happens!
What do you think? It’s not as snugly as a wool rug, that’s for sure.
My mom would say “too many patterns” but I like mixing patterns of the same color family. I wish the grey would be as light as it is on the Overstock website though, but at that price I’ll live with it for a while. I think I want new pillows on the couch too and maybe the Strandmon Chair that I mentioned in my Ikea preview. This studded chair isn’t that comfortable and I need a chair that you can hang out in to watch TV. I’m thinking about moving this one to my bedroom.
I also ordered two Chevron Indoor/Outdoor rugs from Ballard for my hallway and kitchen. My experience with their Indoor/Outdoor rugs is that they don’t flatten out as nice as others. I’ve had their leopard rug for maybe 8 years and it always curled up on the edges. I hate it! Lets hope they improved their design.
I haven’t taken pictures of the whole room yet since I’m trying to straighten them out under our heavy wrestling mat in the basement.

And last but not least I’m working on cleaning out my son’s room! What a mess! Adding new birthday presents to the mess doesn’t help. It’s nice to be able to throw out all kinds of stuff without the kids objecting to it. They get very creative with their reasons why they don’t want to part with toys that they don’t play with anymore. Do you know what I’m talking about? There are toys that they haven’t played with in years but the minute they lay eyes on them again they start balling, hanging on my leg, begging me not to throw out this awesome toy that they never play with. Drives me nuts! Haha, if they’d only knew what I’m up to when they are in school. They usually never even notice that something is missing.

I should have updates soon of his room and I’d like to finally start with posting a house tour on my blog.
So, please stop by again.
Guten Tag fellow webbers.
