Friday once again and time is running fast.
Well I had a sponsored post on Wednesday and folks unfollowed in heaps. It makes me feel sad but I also know I shouldn’t let it affect me. I don’t have a lot of sponsored content but there are things that need to get paid to keep this blog running like email services, domain, blog hosting, technical help… and the list goes on. And nobody likes to entirely work for free. I truly feel like it is ok if a company approaches me with a collaboration for a product that I already use and feel strongly about to get sponsored. And I also know that a lot of people get suspicious when bloggers drop names without calling it sponsored, that it appears like dropping brand names. We aren’t allowed to do that though if we are getting sponsored. We have to disclose that. I hope that you guys know that I truly only share this type of content with you because I already love it. My last sponsored post before that was white wine and now a cat product. It’s kind of funny because it sums me up in a nutshell. I do reject a lot of offers because they just don’t work for me.
I just had to get that off my chest.
Lets get to some of my Etsy favorites I discovered.
And believe me I had lots of time to browse Etsy when I was sitting around after surgery. (Click on the photos)
The first shop sells amazing clutches or as they describe possible laptop and iPad bags. I feel like I need one for my summer travels.
Cats wrapped in amazing chunky knits!!!! There is nothing not to love about that and this shop from the Ukraine ships worldwide. I just love those amazing throws.

Combining tassels and macrame sounds like a match made in heaven and this following shop has some amazing combos:
I love wearing my hair back but it gets boring after a while. With the next shop I see some variations to add some interests to my ponytail with pretty handmade wooden hair pins. There are so many different ones to chose from:
I’ve never heard about a wire crochet kit for pendant lights. Who knew?!?! You can make your own cool pendants with this kit.

The creativity on Etsy is always so inspiring, don’t you think so?
I’m planning on sharing my new DIY mirror with you guys on Monday so make sure to stop in again. Have a great weekend.

the tassels and macrame! tasscrame…. i LOVE it! i want it! i need it.
Oh yeah you need that
holy crap, I seriously have to have one of the tassels and macramé hangers! LOVE Those!. Thanks so much for sharing.
It would look amazing in your home
All I could think when I saw the cats in chunky knits is how incredibly fast my own cats would tear those apart! I think I need some of those great throws AND some less destructive kitties ;).
Mine don’t do much anymore so they’d be fine with the chunky knit
Love it all! I want that palm print on everything this Summer! I also just checked out your sponsored post, I think it’s really nice. I can tell you actually use and like the product. I can’t believe people would unfollow because of that! Don’t let it get you down!
Thanks Tori! I’d love to find some swimwear in that print
Wow. Think on the positive side. Some people may have unfollowed because they don’t have cats! – like me, i didn’t even open the post, but like your other content! Don’t work for free.
True! They might have Ailurophobia ; I’m glad you like the rest of the content. Have a great weekend
Hang in there Julia. There will always be naysayers. You are better off without them. I love your blog. Especially your honesty.
Thanks Karen, that is so nice to hear and always helps me to continue to blog.
I love your blog and how you treat your cats. The blogs I unsubscribe from are the ones that pose for their own selfies with now with outfits from their closets in all different combinations, they must spend afternoons looking at themselves in the mirror. UGH
I know exactly what you are talking about. I do love fashion and have always loved it but am not comfortable taking photos of myself all the time. There is a lot of pressure related to that and most of the time I’m not presentable for photos, so I don’t think you have to worry about me starting to do that any time soon.
I absolutely LOVE those knit kitty beds! I need one for Grits! Thanks for sharing and shake of the unfollows 🙁 Sorry lady, keep doing your thing, you’re amazing!
Thanks Summer! And I’m sure Grits would love it. He is so so cute.
that is ridiculous, the feliway couldn’t have been more pertinent to you. perhaps those other readers are only here for design and have no idea how much your fur babies mean to you. the post wasn’t a million shots of feliway, it was all about the cats. i can’t stand seeing things c/o, c/o, c/o of all the things people have been gifted. you do a lot of work and sponsored content makes sense to offset all your work. this reader isn’t going anywhere.

Thank you so much, I really only want to do sponsored content or gifted items that pertain to me. And after all I don’t have room for a ton new things just because I could get them for free.
Don’t let that get to you! I thought the last post was great, and I don’t even have cats. Their loss, since they missed out on that beautiful bag. I might need to actually get an Ipad to have an excuse to buy it 🙂
Danke Esther! Or you could just wear the bag as a clutch without an iPad 😉 although I do recommend an iPad too. I love mine 😉
I just don’t get the unfollowing bit. As far as I’m concerned bloggers provide me with countless hours of free entertainment and good advice. And sponsorship is a way to get some pay for all you do. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoy your blog. Hope you’re recovering easily and quickly.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks Ursula and that is a nice way to look at it. I hope I can keep on entertaining you 😉
I’ve been reading your blog off and on for a few years but I come around everyday now. I didn’t realize how many diy projects u incorporate into your home. Way to go you are an inspiration. I have no interest in cats so I dont look at those posts. However your other content is so great I would never unjoin or not return. Never mind those other dummies that unsubscribed. Keep up your great work for those that are appreciative. xoxo Vicki
I’m so glad you keep coming back even though you don’t care about cats. I’m trying to have even amount of content for it all and I also try not to talk about my cats too often even though that is hard at times because I’m slightly obsessed with them 😉 Have a great weekend.
I think I need all of these except maybe the first one because I have just about that much fabric left over from my curtains, I could make my own. Perfect for summer!
Yay make one! That would be great.
I agree with several other commenters. I don’t read the pet posts but I LOVE your other content. Your design work and DIY’s are always amazing – very drool-worthy and a major source of inspiration. Don’t worry about losing some readers. I’m sure you will gain back that many and more. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Gwen, I’m honestly glad I can provide enough content for those of you who don’t care about cats. I hope I can keep that balance. Have a great weekend.
I do not understand anyone in subscribing from your post. Their loss! I am bad about keeping up, so I try to not sign on. I am faithful to your blog and I still miss commenting, but only because I am goofy, busy and my little darling Maltese had babies this past April 29th! Want one? They are mixed, daddy is we think a JRT/Chihuahua? I am lucky to choose to just stare at my babies.
