I’m ready to get to DIY projects again, I can tell you that much. This past week of being home, I have tried to fix random things around the house. There are so many!!! You’d think my hubby would have gotten some of it done while he was home by himself for several weeks at a time but NOPE. I’m talking about leaking toilets and freezer, a hole in the wall, a faulty TV cable, broken grill… and that’s not to mention cleaning an unattended home. I’m pooped and not completely done yet.
This weekend my son is also turning 13 which I have been planning for. I can’t believe my “little man” is that old already!

I had mentioned that I wanted to just quickly write about some remaining random stuff that went on in Germany and then I will try my best to get to some DIYing and pet posts again.

I was planning to bringing this pretty runner home from my parents house. If you follow me on Instagram, then you saw it already:

But apparently it has some moth issues and I had it sprayed first in Germany and then it needs to get sent. I wonder how many time I brought moths home already from my parents house. Yikes!!! Doesn’t make me happy to think about that.

Then I spied this fabulous wallpaper at the Ikea in Würzburg:

I was all exited already and thought that Ikea might be selling it but was disappointed to find out that their visual merchandising department had outsourced it. Scandalous!!! Isn’t it? That’s the absolute first time that I have ever encountered an outsourced item at Ikea. They usually always use their own things.

Speaking of visual merchandising departments (we always just called them “demo” department in Germany), I went back for a visit to the place where I used to work. It’s the deko department at the now XXL Neubert in Würzburg. A humongous (several floors high) furniture and home accessory store.
A lot has changed since I worked there and the coolest change is that they have a new staff member that I’m severely jealous of.

Love that she has her own employee picture:

She is a rescue from Romania (sorry for the blurry cell pic) and belongs to one of the employees working in the visual merchandising department.
I have such fond memories if working at that place. And their studio is a dream come true to me more than ever:

Lets move on. My kids an I also went to the African Caribbean Festival in Aschaffenburg. My kids loved tasting all the different foods, checking out the goods for sale and seeing the bands and African dancers.
My favorite stand was clearly this one of mostly dried and natural decorating items :

I wanted almost everything for sale. They also had different sized horns. I was in my mind dreaming up a really nice coffee table vignette.

And last but certainly not least, my cats are happy to have us home again. Monkey is enjoying the company on the patio for sure.

And I love hanging out in our very own jungle again too. Boy it’s hot outside right now!

Tschüß

Oh I know those huge shells are awesome but I was afraid they’d brake in my suitcase. They weren’t cheap either.
And yes my kitties are happy, well I at least think they are ๐Ÿ˜‰

Aww your cat babies missed you. I’ve enjoyed seeing all of the amazing things you’ve been up to even if they aren’t DIY. I think your life is interesting no matter what you’re doing.
