A little wood bead tassel DIY
Hey friends, I can’t even call this one a project because it’s so simple. I guess it doesn’t always have to be labor intensive like my powder room walls right?
I dont’ know if you follow me on Instagram but I showed off in my stories all the goodies they have at Target again. And to my delight they had another chunky strand of wood beads. And you guys know how obsessed I’ve been with wood beads for a while now.
I brought them home and started wondering what I’d actually do with them.
I looked around and thought they’d make a nice little addition in my dining room.
So I unknotted the ends of the strand and knotted some tassels on the end that I found in my attic. This is once again where hoarding comes in handy.
Boom…DONE!

Here is what I used:
- strand of chunky beads (HERE)
- tassels (very similar HERE, HERE or HERE) or any curtain tieback tassels from other stores
- thread to tie the strand on the same nail as the painting hangs on
I love how it frames my painting in an unusual way. But it might rotate around the house yet. You know me.
Or I may even stain some of the beads in different wood stain colors. That would be a great idea too but for this purpose I like the natural wood color.
Oh and I’m sure you guys noticed my new Kelly Wearstler pillows. They are actually for my fireplace are makeover but I couldn’t help putting them in the dining room because they look so pretty in here. (find pillows HERE)
for people who are new to my blog: blue throw HERE | pom pom throw HERE | fur pillows HERE | chandelier HERE | similar curtains HERE | I painted the art but you can find similar art HERE | blue and ivory pillows HERE | tulip chairs HERE | settee is vintage from an auction and I can’t find one similar anywhere
And lastly I want to show you another quick peek at my fireplace mantel. Although it’s not entirely what I had envisioned, I do love it so so much better than before. And it’s almost done. That was definitely a labor intensive project and caused me a couple more grey hairs. And I’m sure you can tell by that little sneak peek how fabulous my new art by Minted is?!?! Right? (click HERE) But I’ll get to that another time.
That’s it for today.

i love the peek of the mantle! and your tassel is adorable! you are the tassel queen!
I do like a wooden bead. I have string of darker ones hanging at the end of my curtain rail. Love those pillows, I’ve had some in my etsy cart for a while now, might have to buy them now! Mantle looks fantastic, you are clever!
Thanks so much Catherine.
Very lovely work, the tassles are just fantastic!
