Another small secretary desk makeover
The blizzard did throw me for a loop you guys. We had fun, it was chaos, dirty, crazy and tiring! The shoveling, cleaning the floors inside a million times until I said screw it, feeding hungry kiddos non-stop, drying clothing from playing in the snow 10 times a day, going skiing, having overly tired kids, oh and cleaning and being a referee to multiple fights and having the hubby work from home and….and…and!
It created good memories though for sure!
I thought I’d check in today because I’m not sure if I’ll blog tomorrow. Say what? I know I always blog on Friday but I’m just NOT SURE YET because I’m going to the World Market store opening tonight (click HERE if you missed the post). Wish me luck with the weather!
I did sneak in a little makeover last week though that I have talked about wanting to do for so long. It’s so minuscule and quick that I’m not even sure I should mention it but hey I got nothing else to do so I will.
Here is a more styled version for a recent house tour I did

If you are new here, I originally purchased the desk at an auction a long time ago and gave it a makeover (click HERE for the before). It’s never been entirely my style. I never sold it though because the size was perfect for that specific corner in our living room. So I tried to make it a bit more modern with the Pantone color of the year 2014 makeover (click HERE for the post).
So this time I mixed a greenish color. And I’m still not sure if I’m feeling it. I didn’t want to go with another Pantone color although I was thinking about one of this years’ colors Rose Quartz. I love it so much. I just wanted to do something different. Oh and I painted the knobs black.
Here it is:Â
And there is Monkey’s ashes again and her paw print. I have to keep her close for now.
It nicely goes with the rest of the room now though.

i love it- love the green so much more, but i was never a radiant orchid girl. how funny that that was a couple years ago but it doesn’t feel so long ago!
Ahh I do love a bit of olive green! It’s such a lovely soft shade, looks great. I love giving small pieces a little shakeup every once in a while and this desk lends itself so well to that! xxx
Thanks, I felt like it’s perfect for spring.
You have the greatest pieces! Too cute!
Thanks Summer
The change is subtle but very effective. I love the green chosen and it is perfect with the rest of your decor. Inspiring.
Thank you
Love this space and the changes to the desk are great.
Thanks Marty
Love it! That desk is perfect. Your whole room is gorgeous!
Thank you
the green definitely rocks! so good!
I have always loved how you set up the secretary. AND can we just talk about how your styling is on point. It’s so pretty. All the pretty things!! I’ve got a secretary in my bedroom, but I don’t use it. It just feels disconnected with that room. I thought about moving it upstairs, but it seems a little fragile for that!
Julia this is such a pretty piece. I love it mixed in with the more modern elements in this room!
I’m very slow today; it took me forever to realize you were talking about painting the INSIDE green….I kept squinting at the dresser and thinking it sure looked like stained wood to me ;). At any rate, once I found the green, it looked great! 🙂
You crack me up. Yeah it is definitely an almost non-visible makeover 😉
Love the subtle pop of color. Perfect use of it.
Thanks 🙂
