Living Pretty With Your Pets: The Blissful Bee
And I’m even more excited to kick it off with Amy from The Blissful Bee. Not only is Amy super talented and gorgeous but she shares my love for cats. I had met her almost exactly a year ago on Hometalk when I checked out her Hide-A-Way Kitty Litter Box and I reached out to her after someone had left a really nasty comment on her Hometalk page. Well, our paths have been crossing ever since. A couple of months ago she included me in her first online magazine publication which you can see by clicking HERE.
She is a gifted Photographer and Graphic Designer and I love browsing through her fabulous blog.
Her cat Bailey is adorable and reminds me a lot of our Harry who died last May.
After a year of having Bailey, we ended up downsizing from a 2,100 square foot home into a 900 square foot home. Bailey is an indoor kitty and I was a little nervous that she wouldn’t have enough room to run around. After getting settled into the new house (and 2 days of her hiding under the couch) Bailey finally got familiar with her new surroundings. In fact, our current house is full of carpet and I think she actually likes it better than our old hardwoods (I can’t really say the same, but eh what can ya do)! We hear her cutting from room to room at full speeds and we know she is just so happy, which makes me happy. The only downside to the move was losing our large laundry room, aka her litterbox room/eating area. We eventually found a solution to that problem [found here] when I posted about her DIY Hide-Away Litter Box.
Bailey has really loved our new house and tends to input herself in just about every project I am working on. People might think I intentionally put her in my photos (because she’s in so many of them!), but the honest truth is Bailey is a curious kitty who just wants to be in the action. In our house we don’t have any cat trees or cat furniture, so I tend to let Bailey roam the house as she pleases. We leave all the windows open for her to look outside and allow her to get on our furniture as she pleases (for the most part). I also let her sniff around while I’m working on a project. She loves getting into my materials and supplies and tends to find new toys with each project! Here are a few examples of her “helping” me with my projects…
So if you haven’t already noticed, I have a bit of a Bailey addiction. I’ve decided I’m ok with it though. I mean, look at her! She’s pretty darn cute if I say so myself. Thank you so much Julia for having me on your beautiful blog today!! It truly is an honor and I am so thankful we were able to meet through our mutual love of animals. Happy Friday everyone!!
I couldn’t agree with Amy more about the joy I get from having my cats as our family members even though they are a lot of work, especially when you have multiple cats.
She also proved that a home can be clean and pretty with your little creature(s) being part of it.
I hope you enjoyed reading about Amy and her Bailey. I’m planning on having more guests in my pet series and there will be dogs too.

I will be busy with wrestling activities for most of the weekend. Ouch, don’t even want to think about all the bleachers. They make everything hurt.
Have a great weekend.

Congrats on the new series. Hugs, Amy
Bailey is adorable! This will be a fun series, Julia. Have fun at those matches…I’ll be on the bleachers too for a bball game! 🙂
Man, I hate nasty comments. Glad you were able to make a friend out of it though. Love that first picture…Heading over to her blog to check it out. Thanks Julia!
aaaw, these photos are adorable! thanks for sharing! 🙂
beautiful kitty and beautiful photos!
great photos, beautiful kitty!
I love this post! Amy’s pictures are beautiful and it’s so fun to hear more about her kitty 🙂
I’ve been following Amy for awhile and I love her blog and all the pics of sweet Bailey! I’m totally a “cat person” too. I’ve had them my entire life. I tend to blog/instagram a lot about my cat, Holly too. 🙂 Bailey is just gorgeous (like her mama) I really enjoyed reading this. I also just checked out her post on the hide away litter box. What a genius idea! I started using plastic disposable diaper bags (the kind sold in the baby section, for putting used baby diapers in) to put Holly’s “presents” from the litter box in. They’re scented like baby powder and don’t stink up the outside garbage can. 🙂
I think Bailey needs her own blog or at least a dedicated instagram! 🙂
Great photos and what a sweet kitty. Looking forward to all the posts on this.
Her story with Bailey reminds me of mine with Perny. My hubby grew up with a dog and wasn’t super sold on the whole cat thing, but it didn’t take long for him to fall in love. Plus, Perny has so much personality and is super affectionate. Loveeeee this post! 🙂
Love this series!!
I’m glad you started this series as I found your blog! I love how they love Bailey ~ so precious.

Great new series, Julia! I love all of Amy’s photos of her cute kitty.
What a sweet kitty! They really have a way of warming the heart 🙂
Sigh. Such pretty pictures of both the cat and the home. Everything is so pretty and fresh and light. Love it all!!
Your Bailey is adorable, and the photos are great! I especially love the one of her in the box. You are so lucky to have her in your life. I would love to have cats, but am severely allergic. Thanks for sharing your pix!
Oh this post makes me so happy! Huge cat lover here!

Oh Bailey is so absolutely gorgeous…… sigh, I am in love again. I have four of them too and three canines…….. and no help, just me…. and I have a happy home with them…. crazy, uuhhh yeah….. to have that many alone…… well I just ask…… which one should I toss away? They love me and I love them…….. hello?
And yes, they are ALL inside only and they sleep with me….. yep. Well Sapphire likes to escape once in a while and it drives me out of my mind till I get her back inside again…… motherhood can be just hell sometimes, but we still love them.
