Kate Spade Inspired Box Makeover

Today I’m sharing a quick and easy box makeover with you that was inspired by my Kate Spade cellphone cover. And actually not much painting was involved. I promise no annoying taping off stripes.
You see, a while back I bought a couple of these velvet lined boxes at Goodwill for $2 each which originally were from Target. You can’t see it in this photo but the box was actually pretty beat up.

I have also been looking for a way to use up all my leftover strips of wall grade vinyl that accumulate from my Etsy shop. Â If you are wondering how this applies to you, well you can buy wall vinyl at most craft stores for cutters like the silhouette cameo. They come in sheets.

I wiped the box, primed it with some Kilz primer and then painted it with my favorite white semi gloss Rustoleum spray paint.

After it dried, all I had to do is cut the vinyl leftovers into strips and stick them onto the box.Â

As simple as peel and stick. No taping off stripes and messy painting. I love doing this and when I’m sick of this look I can just peel the vinyl off and do something else. This would look awesome as a gift box, wouldn’t it?

I had such a great time taking pictures of the box out in the snow. Can you tell?

You can actually spot the snow flakes and the wet spots on the box.

I think the price of gold and diamonds have risen. I’m glad though that many people can buy gold nowadays because the price of gold dropped in April this year.
