Hello Julia, thank you for sharing. I am similar to you in always changing my accessories and their colors, so I have to keep my “canvas” as neutral as possible so the other decor items do not clash. You have a beautiful home and I love the color palettes you have picked for each room. Just beautiful and happy space.

  2. i love this look! you know i love my dark moody neutrals, too, but i love light or dark because it makes changing out colors so easy for the season! or if you just need a change sometimes. 🙂

    1. I love the dark and moody as well, you know it 😉

  3. Loved seeing this post Julia. I love all the fun colors you pair with your neutral walls. So fun!

This post was a great idea. I think a lot of people who love color feel like they need to put bold color on the walls, but it is just as effective to let accessories and furnishings provide the color.

    1. I’ve always loved neutral walls and slowly added more color. I love the chance of being able to change it back to completely neutral if I would want to 😉

  5. Julia, it’s so funny because I don’t think of your home as neutral, but it’s true, almost your entire house has a neutral base. What a great example of how using a neutral background allows you to do anything with accessories. So easy to change up on a whim! Your house is gorgeous and filled with so many amazing details!

    1. Thanks Lisa, I didn’t really think of it as neutral either but when I wrote the post about, I actually noticed how neutral my walls are 😉

such a lovely and serene color pallet. I love how your home as a whole is very cohesive. You’ve done a great job designing a peaceful and beautiful setting for your family.

    1. Thanks Kenz, I didn’t even try to be cohesive 😉

  7. I love seeing what wall colors people have in their houses (I should do a post like this sometime….I keep feeling like I have to paint EVERY ROOM first, but that’s probably not the right mindset)…..love how you paired them with the accessory colors, too–fun post!

    1. You should totally write a post like that!

  8. I am so happy I found your blog a few weeks ago, I have really enjoyed it! This post is my favorite so far, thank you for sharing your gorgeous paint colors with us. Keep the great info coming and enjoy the wrestling season, they grow up way too fast 🙂

    1. Oh thanks so much! And yes they do grow up way too fast. It makes me sad all the time

    1. Haha I know, I don’t even know why I waited this long. Oh wait, I do…because it was actually a lot of work getting this post together 😉

    1. Thank you Patty, hope all is well with you

  10. SUCH a great post, Julia! I’m chuckling as we have similar paint colors in our home. I also do the neutral paint+pops of color approach. I coach a lot of clients toward that end as well. I feel like the paint choice then has more “staying power” but also gives you that freedom to change things up and take risks in small doses with accents.

    1. Thanks and I totally agree. It makes seasonal changes a lot easier too. Have a great night

  11. Great post! When we first moved in, I wanted to stay away from neutrals because I thought they were boring. Then, I fell in love with that true white paint you posted about. Now, I’m completely on board with just changing out the accessories. Love you home and how each room totally flows with the other.

    1. That paint creates a huge snowball effect LOL. I can’t stop because everything looks dirty if you don’t paint it everywhere. I recently painted the ceiling with it too and it’s so much better.

  12. I love your colors and your choice to make each room just a different neutral. But they all go together smoothly. And the accent colors for me make the neutrals stand out. Thanks for sharing your home.

  13. I love your post! I esp. love your colorful lumbar pillow on your bed and couch. Did you buy it or make it? If you made is where did you find the fabric? If you bought it do you mind telling me where you found it? Thank you!

  14. Love this post; love these color combinations! Would you happen to know how I could find the headboard / the bed from the first picture?

    1. That bed is from Magnussen Furniture. I’m not sure if they still sell it and thanks so much.

  15. You have a beautiful home.Im having trouble picking paint for my home.Need help.
